Well first antibody survey from New York is out

"In New York City, about 21 percent tested positive for coronavirus antibodies during the state survey. The rate was about 17 percent on Long Island, nearly 12 percent in Westchester and Rockland Counties and less than 4 percent in the rest of the state."

1 in 5 New Yorkers May Have Had Covid-19, Antibody Tests Suggest

    13.9% average for the state

    Which are reasonably in line with similar surveys in California and Germany, and means two things;

    1. Fat chance of containing this virus

    2. If even remotely accurate, does put the death rate at about 0.7% across all ages, under 0.1% for under 50s

So, good luck to anyone that thinks they'll be in lockdown for 6 months

Chinese city of Harbin goes into lockdown as new coronavirus clusters emerge

A large city in China has been put into lockdown after new clusters of coronavirus cases emerged in the area.

The city of Harbin in China’s northeast has taken on draconian new measures after a cluster of 70 coronavirus cases was detected in the city. In the province of Heilongjiang, which shares a border with Russia, up to 537 confirmed domestic cases and another 384 imported cases were reported this week.

"The Prime Minister has announced 1.5m social distancing rule doesn’t apply to classrooms.

Speaking after today’s national cabinet meeting, Scott Morrison said the 4 square metre rule, and 1.5-metre distancing between students during classroom activities, “is not appropriate and not required”.

The exemption left some parents confused, but Mr Morrison said the advice from medical experts was clear."

1.5m rule 'not required' in classrooms

Because the 1.5m rule is just to make people feel better, it's not based on science

"South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said the government will allow a partial reopening of the economy on May 1, with travel restrictions eased and some industries allowed to operate under a five-level risk system.

Mr Ramaphosa struck a cautious tone in his second national address of the week while emphasising that the worst of the coronavirus pandemic is yet to come."

China has announced it will give another $47 million to the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help in the global fight against the coronavirus pandemic, coming just days after Washington said it would freeze US funding.

The US, which is the WHO’s biggest contributor, accused the organisation last week of “mismanaging” the COVID-19 crisis, drawing ire from Beijing as both countries spar over the deadly virus.

On Thursday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said the $47 million donation would be in addition to a previous $31 million committed, and would help “strengthen developing countries’ health systems”.

Proving that the WHO doesn't actually need the US funding - it can be obtained from the more enlightened countries of the world. !!!

Kids don't carry diseases. Anyone that's got or had school age children should know that.

Kids in a classroom are like bats in a cave. Confined they become immune to respiratory infections. Thus leading to herd immunity..
