Turned out to be false alarms, apparently. One was an incident with an airsoft gun or something - people are extra touchy right now and the cops came under a lot of fire for not issuing an alert during the active shooter last weekend so they aren't going to hesitate this time.

 

How's everyone doing, financially, with everything going on?

Somehow we are making out like bandits. Extra $200 per kid from the province, $300 per kid from the feds. I should get $1,750/month from May to August, too. All of that on top of not paying for daycare, and my wife is still working full time.

Feeling pretty guilty about it so we've been trying to order food from local restaurants at least once/week (that is normally a once every month or two thing for us) and have been giving to the food bank and soup kitchen just to spread it around a bit.

Anyway, this is a round about way of saying that if anyone here is struggling right now, get in touch and at the very least I'll order you some dinner tonight.

 

Financially, I'm good and at peace

Like you, I'm spreading my resources around to help others. It feels great. It's the best wealth to own........the wealth of giving to an endless supply of people who need it.

 

I should probably be careful with money, I'm working right now but my employer is predicting a huge loss of revenue over the next couple months so who knows....but instead I've been online shopping and leaving delivery drivers completely ridiculous tips

 

My company has suffered a 30 - 50% profit loss.

I ordered takeout 6 times last week.

I'm an idiot.

 

Doing the same here... I'm normally on "lockdown" because I don't go anywhere. Didn't get that "stimulus" money. I guess they figure I shouldn't be stimulated....


So, pretty much everything's "normal"...

I'm stable. Don't qualify for anything, but low cost of living + even though im not working i still get paid.

I came 6th out of 24 drivers! But I was well off pace and basically I just survived while everyone crashed lol.

 

Goddamnit, enjoying the shit out of this stuff! :-D

No, but the death in the air line still pops up. So... soon i reckon. I almost put on Kill 'em all the other day, mainly because I had a craving to listen to Anastesia (pulling teeth). I've listened to these albums so much in my teens, I'm generally kinda done with them Just occassionally they get fun to put on again

 

@eggsprog that is a very kind thing to say. i hope if anyone needs it they will take you up on that offer.

I'm, personally, not wonderful financially. But I have five or six people who pay for things for me, can lend me money, etc. So I feel WAY fortunate. I actually have some money paid by my boss yesterday but I haven't found out if that is him thinking I might need a paycheck or he has the government 80% of my wages grant or what. need to text him and find out before I spend half of it on paint for the kitchen.

Which! on Day 2 of Kitchen renovation is chaotic and everything is in piles on the floor BUT we have finally got rid of the yuck plastic worktops and put in the marble ones luv has owned for probably a decade. THeY aRE GORgeous.
