Varmint ^^^^^ - I don't envy the super rich one bit. My wife and I are financially comfortable, which we EARNED from years of hard, technical expertise. But we don't need a yacht, several helicopters, a private jet, islands, or multiple multi-million dollar homes scattered around the globe. We live very modestly and do our share of charitable giving / & DOING. I don't believe - as you wrongly assert - that rich people should be robbed and have their wealth taken away. What I DO BELIEVE, is this: That since God wants us to focus on Him and His teachings, which are all about love, fairness, justice, etc., that the rich, powerful, well-connected, inside-lobbying folks ought to be not so tight and stingy toward their workforces. There's a verse in the Bible that Jesus taught: "It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven." And another: "You cannot love both God and money." I believe Jesus wants us all to have a decent standard of living - but not an exorbitant one at the expense of others who are in need. Notice I said NEED. Everyone NEEDS healthcare. Everyone NEEDS enough food & safe, healthy water to drink. Everyone NEEDS shelter. NO human being needs a yacht. Or a private jet. Or helicopters. Or their own private island. Or several multi-million dollar mansions, or underground bunkers in New Zealand stocked with every luxury item know to man. You cite Job as your example from the Old Testament. Jesus came to teach the New Gospel - the NEW TESTAMENT. Jesus' many examples and teachings never taught that the way to His Kingdom is to lie, cheat, deceive, steal, have laws written to benefit / line the pockets / keep a foot on the throat of the workers of the well-connected - or anyone else for that matter. Jesus is about HIS JUSTICE - not the world's flawed, corrupt version. Job didn't gain his wealth by lying, cheating others, deceptive practices, screwing his fellow man ……………… he was said to be a very upright and pious man. That's a lot different than today's rich people. Jesus taught, "...… by their actions you will know that they are my disciples. Others will know you are my disciples by how you LOVE one another." If others have been an integral part of someone gaining great wealth, by working for them, does it seem right and just to deny them decent pay, or healthcare - in order to gain even MORE wealth??? Does that seem like showing love toward those workers??? Appreciation???? I'll give you an example of modern-day fair treatment. The Turkish man who started the Chobani yogurt business recently made all of his workers millionaires for all they had done to make him rich and build his company. For his generosity, many other business executives and business owners condemned his actions toward his workers. They didn't like what he did for his workers. He made them look like the greedy tightwads they are, and they didn't like how they looked compared to that Turkish man. The Chobani plant is I believe in Idaho - I may be wrong on that. "Mr. Chobani" is still quite wealthy, but his workers got a piece of the pie THEY helped create & build. I believe in my heart of hearts that God is very well pleased with the Chobani founder for his just & fair treatment of his workers. Couldn't other crazy rich people do the same types of things?? I'm sure they could pay better, provide healthcare, enact profit-sharing, etc. But they won't.
I've seen more of this in recent years than in the past. Joe Biden is a prime example. Until 2008 he was basically a Washington salary slob from a district that didn't offer the kinds of side deals people like Pelosi got. Joe started out in the 70s making $40K and was making $170K in 2007. He really was Middle Class Joe, for a long time, 35 years. But when he became VP, everything changed. Joe became fabulously wealthy. His income jumped from $400,000 in 2016 to $11 million in 2017. Then back to $4 million in 2018 (hard times for Joe). It's as if he was a stand up, straight and narrow public servant for most of his career. Then something happened.
Yes, the people who presented the Steele Dosier as credible to us, while hardly beliving it themselves. People who screwed Gen. Flynn. The people who ran interference for the secret meeting between Atty. Gen. Lynch and Bill Clinton regarding Hillary's lost e-mails. Please dont carry water for these creeps.
..............they even receive an IRS tax deduction on the first $10,000 of property tax paid to the local Gvmt.
Things got better for his son, Hunter as well. wondering what he will be doing in a Joe Biden Administration?
You're arguing Trump should ignore his intell agencies when they tell him a horrible virus is coming because the FBI was mean to Mike Flynn? That's nuts.
This is a good example of why Americans should not interfere in the affairs of other people. Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Palestine. He is said to have lived in Nazareth in Palestine. He died near Jerusalem in Palestine. All three of these places are located in the occupied Palestinian Homelands. America's Christian Extremists who ardently follow Donaldo Trumpo and that Mike Pence side-kick want to kill Palestinians and steal their Homelands just as they stole the Homelands of the Native American tribesmen. These American Christians also seem to think that God will just make Coronavirus just go away. Their preachers have been dropping like flies, because of this religious misconception. Christianity and reality do not mix well.
Stormountainman - Friend ….. I have no idea what Trump & Pence really believe about Israel and the Palestinians, but past presidents of both parties tried to negotiate peace between them. And past presidents all agreed that the Jewish State of Israel had a right to exist. Jesus was of the Jewish faith - he wasn't a Palestinian Muslim. Faith and geographic location aren't the same thing. Just a reminder - no bad feelings here!
I believe Jesus was of the Jewish faith. I never said he was Muslim. Islam did not exist until around 600 something CE. What I was pointing out is the religious misconceptions of American Christians. I know (not just believe) that Jesus and the other Jewish people in that area were very angry after the Romans installed the Pharisees to replace the Jewish Maccabees. The Maccabees were the highest Religious judges in the land and very much loved by the Jewish people. What the Romans did was usurpation of Jewish authority. Jesus led a rebellion after that; however, you need to understand that at the time Jews lived in Judea and Samaria. The Palestinians were the Philistines and lived along the coastline from southern Gaza all the way to the border of today's Lebanon. That record is also in the Bible and other historic records. The Bible also has a record of Jewish leaders living with the Philistines. There is also a record of the Original Arc of The Covenant being in Philistine possession … that is if you believe the Bible is the word of God? Oh … one last point: I also think both peoples have a right to exist.
^^^^ I know you didn't say he was Muslim - I was just making the point in the context of today's Palestinian Arabic / Muslim majority. Today's politics - to me - seem more about who's in the spotlight / headlines more than trying to solve a complex problem. Publicity over actual peaceful results.
It's tough subject in any social order. There are even big arguments in the Arab world concerning this disharmony between Palestinians and Jews. There are several Arab nations doing business with Israel as we speak. In Israel itself, there is a famous sit-com show on TV. The central characters are both Palestinian and Jewish. In Israel there is an organization called Rabbis for Human Rights which promotes peace. In Israel there is Ben Nathanyahu who just renamed a place in the Golan Heights "Trump Heights" just so he could irritate the local Arabs. After all the BS during the last 36 months, I would say the matter will not be resolved until we get some new leadership.
I no longer try to make sense of or be outraged by the demented ramblings from the White House. What does concern me is the dangerous support from extremists on the right of conspiracy driven Federal policy. I am also concerned about the supporters who can’t admit they made a terrible mistake in the election and continue to follow the fringes like lemmings over the cliff. I have to admit I never would have believed the level of hatred of minorities distrust of science and rationally sound thinking that pervades our country......especially in rural areas. I grew up in a house where all the ills of WI were blamed on lazy people in Milwaukee and Madison by people who voted for Joe McCarthy. I have lived in both cities and small towns an believe that we all need to realize were in the same lifeboat together. Ignorant, immature, thugs who show up State Capitols armed to the teeth have a level of hate and distrust that is dangerous to the rest of us and their childish tantrums need to be controlled or the lifeboat will certainly capsize.
Spoken as only the truly-ignorant can. What your kind refuse to accept is: This world was created by God, and it is HIS....not yours, mine, the so-called "palestinians" or anyone else's. HIS. To do with whatever He is pleased to do. And He gave a portion of it to His chosen people, the Hebrews, of whom the Jews represent only a part of. That land extends from The River of Egypt to the Great River Euphrates, and He's never changed His mind about who He gave it to, or to whom it belongs. There never was any palestine or palestinian people. A neighboring state attested to this, saying "They are us, and we are them". This same arab/muslim state senet people to Israel after they found out there was a declaration to prepare for the re-creation of a Jewish homeland state over 100 years ago, and until that time it sat barren and empty because none of the neighboring states wanted it. And the only reason they pretended to live there and want it was out of a delusional "duty" to the false god allah and his deceived minions who only want to destroy jews and israel alike. Your foolish attempts to disregard this only makes you look more like a propagandist tool for the worst enemies of the world.
I think that, based on your obvious lack of knowlege of the bible or biblical history, you should probably stick to modern politics. Trying to lecture on something you have so little knowlege of makes you look even more stupid and ignorant than those "right-wing nutjobs" you rail against. It doesn't help your case. "Palestine" was a term of derision invented and used by some romans. There were 5 philistine cities, all in the southern part of Israel. They did NOT occupy or dwell in other cities to the north, although they DID raid other cities and villages. David Ben Jesse took refuge there while fleeing from King Saul by pretending to be mad so they wouldn't kill him. Jesus never led any rebellion. There also is no biblical record that He was angy about what happened with the Maccabees. There is, and never has been, any record of what happened to the Arc of the Covenant, although it's been said that an amateur archeologist named Ron Wyatt actually found it.
No, you speak like a false prophet. You know little of history and there is little in the Bible which supports your claims. You and your people have carved out parts of the Bible which you do not like. The truth is found in the Holy Quran which includes the book of Enoch.
You are a follower of false prophets. By the way … knowledge is spelled k n o w l e d g e … any Muslim could help you with it.
Trumps response to COViD-19 has nothing to do with the bible. So I'm not sure what you guys are going on about...
