I don't have the money or room to set up these contraptions for my seedlings...but I do have an extremely bright windowsill and a very warm room. Is it possible to grow marijuana plants without a terranium or artificial lighting?

Yes, but this is most unwise. The smell and appearance may attract some attention.

You could grow marijuana just like a houseplant, if you wanted. However, you probably arent going to get good quality smoke, if any.

Just make sure it gets lotsa light. and you live in an area where a plant growing in a window won't atract any attention. It should be ok. Be prepared for a cycle similar to out door growing so it'll take a few months.

It will need 12 hours CONTINUOUS dark out of every 24 to produce buds. Nothing brighter than the full moon.

-Unless you have a south-facing bay window, pot doesn't get enought sunlight to veg decent.
-You'll end up with tall skinny plants that will have huge internodal space and will have to be propped up.
-It will be instantly noticably to anyone who looks into your room or seen from outside.
-During flowering, pot needs absolute darkness for 12 straight hours per 24, same light cycle every day, for 2 months.
How about growing some out in the woods? Much better.

Wont work! The plant will just grow very tall and have few leaves. A floursent light at least is a must and for indoor growing you need almost 24 hour light to begine with for best bud. It might grow but it will be a shity smoke.

"During flowering, pot needs absolute darkness for 12 straight hours per 24"

    Not true.

The light of the full moon does not interupt the night cycle as far as the plant is concerned.
But it certainly interrupts the "absolute darkness"!
So luminosity that is less than that of the full moon is not harmfull.

How many times must I correct this particular blunder, ranger?

Most people don't own a lumenometer.
That's why I and most experienced indoor growers recommend absolute darkness.

I've seen instances where one of those tiny red lights on a power strip, or a candle in a growspace, or having a tv on in the room next to a growspace has prevented/interrupted flowering.

dude, just go to the hardware store and get the frosted window tint...simple.
no one will see inside your place and light still gets through...i'm a freakin genius.
hell at night if light is a problem just get like a box and rip it open and put it in the window to block nightlights. you know , like those things you put on your dash in the summer . cardbord works just as good . i'm the king of improvisation.
i have everything i need and didnt break the bank doing it . and i still got repairs done on my car. hell i should change my username to economicalnegrow

To grow decent bud, you need 50 watts per sq/ft of the correct kind of lights--H.I.D.'s, or 90 watts per sq/ft of floro's.
    Incadescent bulbs won't work.

I have grown hella nice plants in a window with direct morning sun before.
It helps if they get outside once in awhile though.

I got a green blanket over my open window for passive intake.
No hermies and no problems with my columbian on 11/13.
My sour diesel's are rocking, and rez says they are touchy - light sensitive.
The light spectrum of green is not recognized by cannabis.

You're not going to convince me or any other experienced grower that you harvested good buds from growing pot on a window sill.

Never heard of "teledo window box" rangerdanger?
Try telling someone from ohio you cant grow good pot in a windowsill and they will laugh you out of ohio. The "toledo Window Box" is a very notoriously stony nug grown exclusively in windows.... Been hearing about it since the 70's myself.
You seem to have more experience talkin shit to youngsters bro- no offence.
I was born in '62 not yesterday.
    What about zihuateneo purple?

And how do you get sunlight to the budsites facing away from the window--record player turntable?

    Toledo window box?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the same sun that shines in Toledo shine world-wide?
Sounds to me like you've been smoking laced weed.

It's amazing that people spend hundreds of dollars on HID lights and grow rooms when all they need is a window sill, huh?
