I'm going to be growing one personal plant soon and I'm just wondering whats a descent cheap light to use. I don't really want to spend too much as I'm just starting out.
The one plant your growing could turn into a male plant so all your time could be wasted for nothing unless you have a feminised seed or a female cutting. Generally the best light to use is Metal Halide for vegative growth and then Sodium for flowering. If your only growing 1 plant I suggest planting it outside to be honest.
If you have indoors as your only option, you should be guided by:space, heat evacuation, keeping the grow secret etc. You could do well with fluorescents but will do better with MH and HPS. Let us know your conditions. Nemisis is giving you some more to consider as well but it's hard to steer you right if we don't know in what waters you sail! b1
www.overgrow.com will help quite a bit, but germinate several seeds and select the best female once they've gone into 12/12 and showed you their sex.
