Faslane Peace Camp rumours.

Now, I don't know if any of you have heard the vicious rumours that Faslane Peace Camp in Scotland has been abandoned, demolished or whatever.. but I just thought I'd say this:

It's all bollocks. I just spent the last week there and although there aren't mass amounts of people there (because it's winter, duh), it hasn't been abandoned. Just thought I'd post this as I told the people there that I'd help correct the rumours. Have a nice day. ^^

 

somebody told me that they'd shut down the base so the camp had clsoed...but i didn't believe it

 

I wanna know where all these rumours are coming from. Hmmm *rubs chin and ponders*

Hehee thats good, id not heared the rumours but still thats good. I actually need to email them and see about going up there in the summer.

 

I first heard them while I was actually staying there. On the first day there a woman showed up, she was checking that there were still people there because she'd heard all the rumours.

I think the reason why people think it is closed or might be closing is due to the fact that its website is no longer working and the lack of any real easy to find information and photos.

Why is there no decent website giving more information. There are also a couple of sites that talk about its closure as if it has happened. I think the web may be the reason behind this rumour

no it hasnt been abandoned .. i was over there a week ago ... went to rattle the south gate for a few hours in the early morning . lol .. anyways .. there are three there at the moment and the camp is looking really good and clean .. go visit

 

Only three people? Where are the rest of the regular occupants? Isn't it fairly dangerous to have only three people holding the fort?

 

Yeah, I know. I was there last week. Dave, Roger and Housie are staying there.

 

Nah, they're doing fine. The phoneline has been tapped though, so they have to be careful what they talk about and stuff. :/ I don't know about most of the regulars, but Fungus has recently given birth to twins and is away until they grow up a bit.

Arg as soon as i get some money together im coming up. Unfortunatly i have no money coming in and quite a lot going out (im feeding for two) ................... (ummm that sounded like im pregnant... im not ... im just paying for me AND jaycee till we can get a place to live for him).............. (glad we cleared that up)
