He owns a bong comapny and his son runs it for him. The cops ordered a bong ot be sent to penn. where it is illegal to ahve paraphenelia. The person who filled the order was not paying attentiona dn sent the bong out. basically thats entrapment but the worker sent it out wihtout checking the destination so it flows. The police knocked on tommy chongs door and told him they had a warrant for his arrest (not a search warrant an arrest warrant) and the DA told him He could spend a short time in jail OR they would prsecute his son(who runs the company) so he did the time for his son. When the police at his door asked him if he had weed he said OF COURSE IM TOMMY CHONG they searched but didnt find any and he joked with leno about how good he hid his stash.

he went to jail for sellin pipes online. the feds went to a state where clean pipes are illegal and ordered from a bunch of pipe makers/distributors. thats why you cant find glass online now. he is out and i think he even has some tourdates posted. a real fun show if you ever get the chance. second time i met him i got to make him ganja waffles and i wrote a song about them and played it for him. we had fun.
