yeah, dave keeps them locked up. he hides the key when i get "that look" in my eyes. but seriously, i used to be totally terrified of guns, which is why i made a point of learning all about them. i still have a great deal of respect for them, but i'm not afraid anymore. i wanna eat meat, but i feel i have to hunt it. so i need a gun. i also learned to proper use of hand guns, though i'm more comfortable with rifles.
When I was like 3 my dad took me out, held a ruger in my hand and had me pull the trigger. I was crying for hours... and I hated guns till I was like 14. Now thats parenting.
sounds like my grandpa...I just hated the loud noise... My grandpa was cool about it though, just a collector..he had about 30 guns, from muskets to a german luger he took of a pow. My grandma, on the other hand, has been known to run teenagers off her land at gunpoint
I don't have a problem with kids and guns, as long as the individual child is capable of handling the power, and is STRICTLY supervised, and is deeply indoctrinated with the rights and wrongs of gun usage. I got my first gun when I was 11 -- a single-shot .410 -- so I could go bird hunting with my dad so my family could eat. I'm not a gun fanatic now, but my FIL is, and I have 15-20 antique rifles and handguns in my house, along with 'Maggie' (.357 Magnum) for any unwelcome intruders. hahaha..................'Git offa mah land, you summbich!'...................hahahaha
But now I like guns, I gotta .22 pistol, a shotey and a 9mm. I'm thinking about getting a rifle too... But its just dumb to have kids run around with fucking shotguns if they're not ready to use em. I live by myself so its no big deal. I'm aginst bad parenting, not guns. Kid's shouldn't run with scissors either.
I was taught about guns and had access to guns from the time I was about 9 or 10....However, it never quite set right with me...The first time I actually went with my dad to hunt, it was for rabbits....and when I hit a rabbit (I'm a sure-shot, or so he told me), I cried...To watch something die because I killed it...it just wasn't something I was comfortable with...I'll teach my children gun safety and everything...but I will discourage joy-hunting...
I've never been a very big hunter either, I just got 'em for the fun of shooting targets and for defense and the eventual coming zombie apocalypse.
Don't like hunting .. like supermarkets. spent the last 28 years never owning a gun .. not done me any harm. I thought only the malitia were 'american' enough to want too eat sleep and drink guns.. People say let kids hold and use guns at a young age.. let them get some respect for weapons ?? WHY.
I'd like to see how the UK feels about guns when Tony Blair is trying to protect his brains aginst a horde of zombies with a freaking hammer. Some people say this isn't very likely, but these are usually the same people who believe in global warming.
anybody stupid enough to let their children play with guns (particularly loaded ones) deserves to be shot by their kid. I'm sorry, but you gotta teach your kids to respect things that can destroy human lives, not teach them that they're toys. Fucking morons.
I fail too see why the vast majority of people want guns in their house. I fail too see why 'bearing arms' seems like the right thing to do now I fail too see lots of things realy.
Some of us feel uncomfortable with the idea of somebody sneaking into their house in the middle of the night, to possibly kill/rape them... If somebodys was going to kill me, I would kill them first... theres not much to understand.
oh, you see, when we start disagreeing with the US govts. policies, we are going to fight against their spy satelites, state of the art aircraft, gigantic miltary, and endless aresenal of weapons with our little handguns.
i mainly shoot hippies with mine. *spits chew into the spitoon* oh, and them commie bastids that don' like NASCAR.
