Going dark are we, well here's a bit of irony...………….

Co-founder of Maryland group that protested for state to reopen tests positive for coronavirus

The co-founder of a Maryland group that protested the state's stay-at-home order and has pressured Republican Gov. Larry Hogan to ease restrictions
amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic says he has tested positive for Covid-19.

"I did have a hard day yesterday. I told you guys I wasn't feeling really well. I crashed later in the day, had to go to the emergency room.
I thought I was actually having a stroke ... turns out I had Covid,"

Tim Walters, the organizer for Reopen Maryland, said in a Facebook live video posted Thursday that he is quarantining in his home.
The US Navy veteran and former Republican candidate for Maryland's House of Delegates also said that his wife and son would get tested
and they would be following the 14-day quarantine.

Science by press release: When the story gets ahead of the science - CNN

I guess they bit off more than they could chew.

So, are we to understand that in their desperation to provide an explanation to the American public they've inflated vaccine projections? I don't think that's the case, but this article, probably an opinion piece, seems to suggest that it is.

EDIT: The title you see on CNN's website is not featured in the link I copied. It reads "Never Before Has the Science Around Covid-19 Been So Opaque". Then, for the link, you can see what it reads in purple above and here: Science by press release: When the story gets ahead of the science - CNN

US coronavirus: Only two states are reporting a decline in new cases

A staggering rise was reported in 36 states, including Florida, which some experts have cautioned could be the next epicenter.

Florida reported 9,585 new coronavirus cases Saturday, a single-day record high since the start of the pandemic.
The number rivals that of New York's peak in daily cases in early April.

The daunting numbers could just be the tip of the iceberg: A new survey by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests the total number of coronavirus infections across the US could actually be six to 24 times greater than reported.

I find people are less and less wearing masks, by talking to different people in other countries, this seems to be a general thing.

Do you still believe in CDC or WHO?I don t know how far I still believe in them, it used to be a time when they were not recommending the masks!

There are several reasons for the confusion. At the point in time they recommended not wearing masks it was because healthcare workers had a shortage of masks. So it was more a plea to the public to not buy places out of masks, like people did with toilet paper, so healthcare workers can be supplied. As it was there were shortages for healthcare workers.

The other misunderstanding about masks is you are not wearing a mask so you don't catch the virus... It is so you don't spread it to others if you happen to be asymptomatic but have the virus.(In other words, you could be a carrier but not feel ill) (The word "you" is not directed at pattymary... I used it in general)

These anti-mask morons in the US are not concerned that they could spread the disease, and it could kill somebody... They don't care about that shyt. I haven't seen anything in the Bill of Rights that allows someone to willingly spread disease. It could be covered under the right to be a fucking moron, but that would be up for debate.

yes definitely. I think that their refusal to initially acknowledge masks has to be political though.

I have noticed too that people don't think they need to do social distancing anymore. It's a free-for-all.

"Two illegal street parties have been broken up by police during another night of unlawful gatherings in London.

Dispersal zones were put in place in Clapham Common and Tooting Bec Common to clear crowds causing "significant disruptions" on Saturday night.

The zones allow uniformed officers extra powers to order people to leave the area and not return.

Home Secretary Priti Patel has called on people not to attend street parties, protests or mass celebrations."

People are willing to needlessly risk their lives just to show support for their leader. I'll never understand that mentality.

I don't know about you guys. But the Covid pandemic has worked out tremendously in my favor. I know, it sucks that many people died. But the quarantine was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I got laid off from my waiter and bar back job at a nice restaurant and got unemployment. Once things started opening back up, I declined to return to that job. Cuz I have no need to! My girlfriend supports me through her job. She is a cam girl and makes bank! Lots of dudes out there sitting at home jerking off to her and paying her money! On top of her support I also make unemployment.

Sometimes she makes me go on her webcam, but I have to wear a gimp mask so I'm not identified. Plus having my face masked out gives her fans an easier time to imagine themselves in my shoes - being whipped and dominated by her in a BDSM scenario.

Since they are all staying home and not going outside, they've got nothing better to do than to give money to my girlfriend.

Or there is still a shitload of other stuff out there more likely to kill you; cancer; heart attack; head on collisions; mass shooters; slipping in the bathtub; lightning etc etc

Getting close to 200,000 new cases everyday worldwide.

There's no chance of avoiding this virus

Covid-19 vaccine might not get us the herd immunity if too many people refuse to get it, Fauci says - CNN

I don't think that any vaccine provides 100% protection. What is flu vaccine? They disclaim it when you get the shot! It's 70% or something...

what percent effective is flu vaccine - Google Search
I think that we take what we can get.

I disagree with his approach here. He's pessimistic. I think that people will warm up to the idea. Once health insurance, of course the media, and doctors, academics, etc. get behind it like they do with flu vaccine, people will sing a different tune.

I guess what he may be saying though is that if we get the same behavior we see with flu, we won't get adequate "herd" immunity; whatever that means...

I noticed you left out the parts where flu vaccines are only 14-40% effective in over 65 yr olds
