Hamburg sex workers demand Germany's brothels reopen

HAMBURG (Reuters) - Prostitutes demonstrated in Hamburg's red light district late on Saturday evening demanding that Germany's brothels be allowed to reopen after months of closure to curb the spread of coronavirus.

With shops, restaurants and bars all open again in Germany, where prostitution is legal, sex workers say they are being singled out and deprived of their livelihoods despite not posing a greater health risk.

I believe children should be allowed to return to their classrooms in the fall. But there are going to some hard lessons learned
along the way (no pun intended)

Three Arizona teachers who shared a classroom got coronavirus. One of them died

Three teachers who shared a summer classroom at a school in Arizona all contracted coronavirus last month, leaving one of them dead.

Kimberley Chavez Lopez Byrd, 61, died June 26, less than two weeks after she was hospitalized. The other two teachers -- Jena Martinez and Angela Skillings -- said they're still struggling with the effects of the virus that has killed nearly 135,000 people nationwide.

All three teachers wore masks and gloves, used hand sanitizer and socially distanced, but still got sick, according to school officials at the small community in the eastern part of the state.

"Don’t forget, we have more cases than anyone in the world, but why? Because we do more testing. When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didn’t do any testing, we would have very few cases." ~ Donald J. Trump

Bus driver, 59, dies after attack by passengers who wouldn't wear face masks

A BUS driver has died after being attacked by passengers who refused to wear face masks.

Philippe Monguillot, 59, was declared brain dead after being dragged out of his bus and savagely beaten.

He was assaulted in Bayonne, France, on Sunday after asking five passengers to put on face masks - in line with coronavirus rules in the country.

The “barbaric” attack was so brutal his head was disfigured and he was left brain dead.

    I find this interesting............

Scientists Hoped Summer Temperatures Would Tamp Down Covid-19 Cases. What Happened?

Just a few months back, some scientists hoped summer conditions might help tamp down coronavirus transmission.

Studies have shown simulated sunlight can inactivate the virus on surfaces and in the air, and one study found the virus deteriorates much more quickly in warmer temperatures than in cool temperatures.
Some of the other coronaviruses that have long circulated in the population tend to peak in colder months and wane in the summer months, and some thought that summer heat and humidity
could work to slow the spread of Covid-19.

There are three likely reasons, they have to do with the current levels of immunity in the population, how the virus is transmitted and how people behave.

The main punchline of our paper is the lack of population immunity…dominates any climate effect,”
said Rachel Baker, an epidemiologist at Princeton University

The assertion that close person to person contact is more important than contact surfaces in transmission is just conjecture and opinion, its not based on any studies

In order to be able to determine that, they would have to be able to trace each virus particle to determine the exact moment anyone gets infected

If you dont believe me, try find a single study to back up the claim

Also the virus is not "surging" in the US, it has taken 6 months to infect 1.05% of the population, at that rate will take 20,30 years to infect 2/3rds of the population

"Surging" would be if it was growing exponentially and you were getting a million new cases a day by now

Or to put it another way, 6 months down the track, with all we have been through, and 98.95% of your countries population has never been infected

    Also VG

"Show me the study the doctors and scientists did that supports that, can't trust anything else"

California has re-closed, and I'm thankful. We are no longer having in-house dining, church, or gym to prevent the increased spread of the novel coronavirus.

    Yeah.

But we're closing up here. Too many sick*

It's a travesty, because as anybody knows, we'll lose our jobs and livelihood. It's a necessary evil though.

Your little mini spike is fizzling out anyway

It's been almost 6 weeks since Florida starting topping more than 1000 cases a day, still no matching jump in deaths, that's way too long

Nothing to see here now, move along
