If you're using IE, go to Tools, then Internet Options, then General, then delete all your cookies and temp files.

OK, got some info from a friend, had to go to START, then RUN, then type in regedit, then when the registry comes up do something that escapes me for the moment, but it worked....

THIS Should have been in the "Computers & Internet" forum. But. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!! Fuck with the Registry if you don't know what you're doing. That's number 1. Number 2 is: IF you're talking about what I think you are, do this.
"Start/Programs/System Tools/Disk Cleanup". And then, open your control panel, click on Internet Options/settings/view files and get rid of anything that is labeled with something you don't recognize. After that, click on "Clear History". then run whatever anti-Spyware and anti-virus you might have.
    Let us know.

Forget you ever heard the word Regedit. Don't mess with that. It is not a Notepad or Word Doc. Your registry is simply off limits.

But in any case you can erase everything (not really but it will appear that way) from the Internet Options bar.

    No Regedit ...

It's also good to make a restore point regularly. Sytem Tools in Windows has a System Restore feature. If a restore point is made, you can restore the system to a previous time before a problem started.

lol you don't have to completely forget the idea of ever messing around with the registry. In fact I would recommend becoming familiar with the registry and learning more about it. It's not something which should just be ignored, because if you continue to do that then you will start to notice a difference in performance. The registry can become fragmented just like your harddrive, so occasionally it is a good idea to defrgrament your registry. There are also some programs that are hard to remove unless you are a little more familiar with the registry, such as a few particularly nasty trojans. Also information about every program you have ever installed as well as a host of other information is stored in the registry. It's a good idea to clean out all of that junk sometimes because it really isn't needed and does slow your performance. I think that it is something that you should be afraid of. Just arm yourself with knowledge and move forward. Google is your friend. Most importantly you should learn about backing up your registry before you make any changes. That way if you do manage to mess something up then you can just restore your old registry keys.
