If I do go to college, it'll be to some community college first... tho I really have no interest to go at all.

Went to the closest technical school to my house. Berks Technical Institute. Fuggin' dropped out last month. My teachers were asking me questions about the programs they were supposed to be teaching me. So I began to ask myself... "Why am I paying for this?" Now I jam out all day and I couldn't be happier.... or more broke... or have a more understanding girlfriend who buys me tea at diner's and tells me i'm the shit, heh.

But Adelphia Seafood called me today cause I applied to be a warehouse worker there. Pays $8.50 an hour and I'd get about 30-35 hours a week. Sounded pretty good to me. 'Cept I signed a paper that says I'm willing to participate in a drug screen. That little corncob pipe of green, leafy goodness I partook of earlier tells me I got no chance of passing. So I guess I'm gonna drink a gallon of water the night before and a gallon before I go for the test. Worth a shot!

speaking of which.... anybody got any ideas/home remedies on how to improve my chances on this drug screen? (i believe it's a urine test. not hair sample.)

that's dissapointing chuck. you're a smart kid - you could learn a lot at college. I know your high school life has been somewhat of a bummer, but from what I've read you seem like a reacher, a searcher, a learner - if you find the right collegiate environment you could prosper.

to answer the question. I went to college originally at Skidmore College in Saratoga NY, then took a couple of years off, went back and graduated from the University of Vermont in 2000.

Bezerkly.UCB.Fuck those $8.50/hr. jobs that drug test.Set yourself free get educated any way you can.I lived in a camper while going.Do what you have to.Your mind is the only thing you really own.Trade schools, for the most part suck. They're after grants and VA money and thier prices are set accordingly.Go to JC or university and seek out the ones who want to teach.

I don't have enough money to go to any more colleges. All I want is some shitty job I can go to every day doing some repetative task so I can come home and do whatever I want with the money I made. As long as I can come home, drink some beer, and play some guitar, I'm as free as I need to be. :)

    Thanks :)

I don't know what I'm gonna do... if I get the chance to go to some college, then I'll go, but that won't be this summer, I don't know what country I will be living in come September... if I do go to college, it'll be for music, but then there's the part where you have to go to all those other classes.... I'd probably be thinking a lot differently about this if I had money :p

I'm goin to the college closest to here....I''ve been advised that I shouldn't waste my talent for art, so I'm gonna' study graphic design....it's sposed to be a great job for traveling. It's not what I really wanna do but maybe it is a step in that direction....

It don't take money,it takes determination. If you call freedom having to work for some asshole the rest of your life so you can support your kids,I guess we're all free.Start with a jr.college, get state funding, get federal funding, bum money off the fucking streets, but go.You can't afford not to.

I understand how important it is, but look at it this way. I owe my parents somewhere in the area of $2,000. I have a $5.63 bank account and $2 in my pocket. Not to mention I don't have a job. Unless college is free, I doubt I'll be going.

who says you can't work at the same time.Your parents might perfer you were educated where as you won't end up oweing them more money in the future. They'd probably be happy to write off that $2,000 just to know that you were self sufficient and no longer a burden.Penn is a pretty liberal state,I'm sure they have financial assistence.Start at a community college and transfer.Take classes that relate to your work,it'll help your pay.Don't talk to me,talk to the school councilers, there's all kinds of ways.Just do it,somehow you'll make it through. Then you'll have to get a bigger hat.peace

I'm going to Colby College this year like my ex hippy parents did 25+ years ago. I love them so much, thank you guys for molding me and accepting me just the way I am. I'm so lucky to have them, honestly.
