Hey All, Most of us have seen "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". How many among us have had the pleasure of viewing "Where the Buffalo Roam"? Bill Murray plays Hunter T. and Peter Boyle plays as "the lawyer". What are some of the similarities you noticed that Depp and Murray used for the character? What are some differences? Which movie is better? If you have not had an oppurtunity to view "Where the Buffalo Roam". I suggest you do so! It is rare and out of Print for now but, will be rereleased 2/05/05. Peace and Solidarity.....enjoy one another
looks like my library has "buffalo" in stock. i'm gonna go take it out tonight. i LOVE "fear and loathing"! thanks! peace. LP
there is a documentry made staring hunter called fear and loathing in hollywood its great it shows what he wants to happen to his body when he dies and shows him doing coke smoking weed and shooting guns you got to love america
thanks, gregonzo, i watched it! it was really good. makes me feel silly for being such a fear and loathing fan, without seeing the original take on him. makes me feel like one of those godsmack fans, who's never even listened to alice in chains, if anyone understands what that means.... peace. LP
I need to watch Buffalo. It's on my list of movies to watch. I should rent some today, but I can't find my freakin' TV remote.
I thought fear a loathing was abit cack to be honest. Benicio Del Toro's performance was good though, a saving grace.
I love Fear and Loathing... I feel almost immature for feeling that way, because I know it is pretty silly in comparison to something like "Where The Buffalo Roam", but I think it is great. There is something that Bill Murray is missing that Johnny Depp hits right on. I can see where people are coming from when they say that Where The Buffalo Roam is a "better film". It definately has more content and a stronger, more clear cut political stance, but one of the things I like so much about Hunter S. is his attitude and personality, which is more prevalent in Fear and Loathing. It's not just that he does a bunch of drugs. If anything, I look at his massive amount of drug use as a metaphor for his "fuck the system" attitude that he had his entire life. Always to the beat of a different drum. Despite which film you like better, Thompson was a great man. Perhaps he was the last great man. He was one of a kind (hmm, still feels weird to refer to him in the past tense).
