I'm predicting that whoever says the LEAST from now until the election will ultimately win. Kamala does NOT look great on paper. She looks even worse calling her perspective running mate a racist. And looks even worse than that if she truly does intend on stripping healthcare from folks and hiking taxes so high. But that's who Biden chose, so that's who America could potentially get.
You are falling for the right wing propaganda and spreading misinformation, thanks for helping Donald Trump. She didn't call him a racist. Look it up. Her healthcare platform includes Medicare for All, cracking down on prescription drug prices, allowing the choice of private insurers, and the continuation of the ACA (Obama care). Her tax plan calls for raising taxes on the top 1%, a 4% income based increase on those making over $100,000 a year based on family size etc. which would contribute to Medicare for All, a tax credit for low and middle income households, raising the Capital Gains tax which presently benefits the well to do, raising the corporate tax rate which when cut increased the deficit by $1.7 Trillion dollars, increasing the estate tax which presently benefits the well to do to help pay for better schooling, and finally instituting a 0.2 % tax on stock trades, .01 % on bonds, and .002 % on derivative transactions. I see nothing that will hurt the middle or lower classes, just a leveling the playing field by asking the rich and corporations to pay their share. But perhaps you would like to eliminate taxes all together?
Walk Well as MeAgain has pointed out you are incorrect but even if that was true are you really saying you’d then want Trump back in? I mean Trump with the support of the Republican party is trying to rig an election and you are thinking that is the person you want in power because you might have to pay a little more tax?
So in other words you couldn't fault anything in that 8 minute video, so you just said something along the lines oh - oh, yeah, because Trump's face, that's why
Balbus, you tend to overanalyze and misread. I said "my prediction" is that whoever speaks the least "will win". I did NOT say who I wanted to win. I did NOT say I had a preference. I did NOT express any form of bias for either candidate and their respective running mates. In fact, this year's crop of candidates (including this administration) all make me cringe.
So again, as usual, a nothing burger. Cuomo followed Trump's own policy regarding nursing homes. Same with Whitmer.
You not providing a link and only copying and pasting one paragraph was a dead give away that its bullshit . "Before the state Health Department sent its controversial March 25 advisory, which has since been withdrawn, the CDC released guidance for nursing homes. The CDC cited two "key factors" to consider when deciding whether to discharge a patient with COVID-19 to a long-term care facility, said Kristen Nordlund, a CDC spokesperson. First, is the patient medically ready for discharge to a long-term care facility? And second, is the selected long-term care facility able to safely care for a patient recovering from the virus by implementing all recommended infection control procedures? These directives were in place on or before March 23, two days before the state issued its advisory. One week before the state's advisory was released, the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Report looked at a facility in Washington State. The report’s authors recommended that "in the context of rapidly escalating COVID-19 outbreaks in much of the United States, it is critical that long-term care facilities implement active measures to prevent introduction of COVID-19." The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal regulator of nursing homes known as CMS, also issued COVID-19 guidance. The top administrator at CMS, Seema Verma, pushed back on Cuomo’s claim that the state followed federal guidance. She cited a March 13 CMS document, which says that nursing homes should only accept those patients for which they can care. The CMS memo also states: "Per CDC, prompt detection, triage and isolation of potentially infectious residents are essential to prevent unnecessary exposures among residents, healthcare personnel, and visitors at the facility. Therefore, facilities should continue to be vigilant in identifying any possible infected individuals." It was a week after the Cuomo order, on April 2, that the CMS said new long-term care patients and residents "should be screened for COVID-19 through testing, if available." CMS guidance also states that if possible, nursing homes should dedicate a unit or wing exclusively to residents returning from the hospital, where they can remain for 14 days without symptoms." PolitiFact - New York’s nursing home policy was not fully in line with CDC
Only one of us does not read about current science. Which one of us claims to know more than a doctor? It's you. You have even claimed to know more about engineering than me a person who graduated from one of the most respected schools of engineering in America. I would not say I am like lab coat scientist in his lab but I defiantly took many science courses in my education. It's the main component of a right wing identity. You without actual education on the subject are always too smart to be lied to.
Huh? I took the standard curriculum I'm not sure what you mean. Even 1/2 a semester and dropping out an intro course would be more than you anyway.
I like biology. But that's truly beside the point... I read today that there will be no stimulus until September at the earliest. wtf Well, it's all good. I'm comfortable, but I fear other people may have been relying a little on that stimulus; though they say (Mnuchin) that the first one hasn't even been spent yet. I'm just speculating, but I suspect the old codgers living well on their retirement with a modest "fixed" income got that check and maybe held onto it instead of running out to spend it. I don't know how much of the population can be accounted for in that way, and there are likely other circumstances that promote similar behavior; like salaried guys who can work from home and aren't hurting, but I think that's what he's talking about when he says the first stimulus is still out there.
