I took on an extra class this semester. - a total of four. So I've got Intro to Accounting, Computerized Accounting, Computer Applications, & Russian. It's fourteen units, so I'll be pretty busy at some point, but Russian doesn't begin until 8/31, & Computer Applications begins 9/14. Time management is going to be tricky, but it's for a good cause - financial aid i.e. student loans are based on the number of units enrolled. I've got 9 at the school where I'm applying for aid which is 3/4 of full-time student status (Russian is at a different school, and since it doesn't count towards the accounting discipline/degree, it wouldn't count even if it were at the same school). I'm kicking myself too because the loan amounts are smaller than I initially imagined. They had told me $10,500 is the maximum. What we didn't really talk about is how that amount comes down dramatically if you're not taking a full load (12 units or so; I have 14, but they're not all degree related, so only 9). Anyway, it puts a damper on some of my plans and I've decided to save up for some of my aspirations rather than buying outright.
Oh my, you have taken on a lot. Can you pay by installments? You will be so busy, and I will miss you, Soul. But I am truly proud of you. xxxx
It isn't affording school so much as my extracurricular plans, like visiting Kyrgyzstan or other related purchases. I don't have credit really, so financing is a bore. A student loan is my best option, and it sort of bottomed out as you can see. Thank you for being proud. @Candy Gal you truly are a talent and a wonder! You amaze, and you being gracious is so refreshing. It's true that I'll be busy, but for now only two of the classes have started; the Intro to Accounting, and the Computerized Accounting, both of which I have some prior experience with from work and school (remember that bachelor's? I remember some stuff from that it turns out...). Anyway, I'm caught up for the time being
