Assuming that was a question, you're free to assume anything you wish, but I have no concern for anything someone gifts another, other than to think "well done".

That's not the same as someone threatening me at gunpoint that if I don't contribute to their cause then I will be harmed. It's sad that I have to spell out the logical difference to you but maybe, just maybe, one day the light bulb in your head will illuminate your thinking on the distinction.

 

First, please illustrate a current policy actually instituted for specifically selfish reasons.

Second, all people are inherently selfish. It's human nature. We have to teach children to consider others. That's why policies which allow people to benefit from ownership and profit coincide with the advancement and betterment of society. There has to be a potential reward to compel people to expend effort and take risks.

That doesn't mean we employ selfish policies, it means we capitalize on the innate selfish nature of all people in order to accomplish worthy things. Things like treatments for the ill and injured, medicines, transportation, computers, farm machinery, etc etc

 

I don't. Shit happens. But I'm not going to cry about it. These people brought us computers, phones, gadgets, software, internet... Electric cars and trucks, space travel, medical innovations, buying at a click and delivering to me, and so much more! Should I care that their "personal monetary worth" is astronomically higher than my own? I don't feel it. What they got rich doing also helps me, and others poor and rich. I look at it as a "big picture" view. We're all better overall from their initial advantage.

My advice, give your kids all the advantage you can muster. It'll benefit everyone.

newo, many of us who voted for Trump- and plan to do so again- realize he is a very flawed man. I would not doubt that he is unscrupulous. But when it comes down to whom you are voting for, given the way Republicrats have a lock on the electoral system, you face a binary choice. The question to focus on his not whose character is better- and neither Trump nor Biden stand tall in my book- but who is better for America.

In my mind, for all his flaws, the clear choice is Trump. With Biden, you are getting a senile old man- you don't know who is going to be the real power, but you do know the Dems are taking a hard left turn. Trump has some solid credits to his tenure as POTUS, and Biden would have done none of these:

1) Stand up to Chinese aggression and their abuse of the international trade system. You may recall, Biden took his son, Hunter, with him to an official trip to China, after which Hunter's company got a nice lucrative contract from China. Coincidence, I'm sure.

2) For eight years Biden was part of a team that tilted toward Iran, giving them a clear path to a nuclear weapon, along with billions of dollars (a good deal of it delivered in cash as I recall). This unsettled Israel and the Gulf states. Trump abruptly changed tacks (Trump doesn't do smooth, nuanced), pulled out of the unsigned Iran deal and imposed tough sanctions on Iran, making them pay a price for their support of terrorism worldwide.

3) Biden was part of a team that trashed the Middle East's only democracy and very nearly brought the Moslem Brotherhood to power in Cairo. Trump carried through on Obama's (and other POTUS's) pledge to move the American embassy to Israel. The expert Democrat advice was the Middle East would explode. Instead, it was: Yawn. Trump put forward a credible plan for an Israeli Palestinian peace, one whose jury is still out (although it won't happen with an 84 year old dictator in the 14th, is it, year of a five year term of office still in power). That plan got an amazing degree of support in the Arab world (although not in Ramallah) and resulted in the first Arab nation in over 25 years to agree to normalize relations with Israel. THE DEMOCRATS HAVE BEEN 100% WRONG about the Middle East. Trump has put forward a diplomacy with promising results so far that, who knows, may result in a general peace between Israel and Arabs.

4) It's a dual edged sword, to be sure, but Trump cut taxes, and that, until COVID hit, lead to a strong economic boom. Biden will raise taxes for basically everyone who, on balance, pays federal income taxes.

It is reasons like this that cause me to support Trump, even though I do not consider him a man of honor. Well neither is Biden.

 

Yes, businesses should be able to hire based on race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or shoe size. However, the dynamics of a competitive capitalist system will deselect that kind of behavior.

By the way, the enforcement mechanism from DoJ and DoL is a not inconsequential drain on the American tax payer, as well as being an encroachment on the freedom of contract. I think, at heart, you do not choose the path of freedom: you want a Leviathan state to run people's lives. I believe government should prevent my first from initiating contact with your nose (and vice versa), but beyond that should get the hell out of the day.

I agree with you. I am an individual... I am not into collective thought. I believe in individual rights and freedoms. And I agree that BLM, Antifa, nations of Islam, and nazis have the same thing in common, same common goal. Ideology... they agree with one another. Aligned,. We see at this movement all the time but it is ignored, I don’t believe in affermative action, where by someone can tell you who must work for you. One hires the best person for a job, which should not be based on skin colour, gender, ethnicity, etc. I also understand that racism exists and skin colour does not dictate that.

there is a medical school that has the lowest standards. This schools priority is women. Has nothing to do with how hard someone worked to learn. Has nothing to do with how much someone wanted it. So they set the lowest standard for women. And standards set as well are based on skin colour, ethnicity too. Not everyone treated equal. How racist, how biased is that? Is it fair! Is it fair to men? No matter how hard you worked to become your life’s dream and goal, it comes down to what you are and what you are not, This is racist. I don’t know about you, but I don’t care what ethnicity or gender my doctor is, as long as he or she was not pushed through and is the best of the best. Is good at their job. I am female and find that low standards for medical school is an insult.

 

To add, I check doctors credentials now. If I see the person graduated from this school, I won’t see them... as well as from many other medical schools. There are doctors here that graduated from medical schools, that are not even medical schools, yet they are allowed to work here and take people’s lives in their hand,
