Did you know that if you feed a pitbull a vegetarian diet, it's aggression will go down? I heard it on the discovery channel. There was a pittbull sanctuary (for lost pitbulls, abused pittbulls, etc.) where they mentioned that they feed their pittbulls a vegetarian diet so that they'll be less aggressive....I thought that it was very interesting, so I wanted to share it! (I'll try to find some sites about this) BTW...is it Pittbull or pitbull? I'm not really sure...
That's a myth -- alot of people say that if you don't feed something meat, it won't be aggressive. But it's very untrue. Vegetable protien as opposed to Animal protien would have more of a negative impact on a dog's behaviour than the other way around. Animal protien is much healthier. It is a complete protien. Vegetable protiens are hard for a dog's body to extract, and so the amount of protien it has on a vegetarian dog food bag chemical analysis would be innacurate, because the dog's body would not absorb half of the protien in the food. When you say pit bulls, it depends on what you mean. There is the American Pit Bull Terrier, which can be called a pit bull for short, but they also group all of the bully breeds together and call them "pit bulls," in which case you would be talking about Bull terriers, English bulldogs, American bulldogs, American staffordshire terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers, etc. But it is not pitbulls, it is pit bulls.
Well...being vegetarian totally lowered my aggression for some strange reason. Also my, ahem, sex drive. Why not have it work on pit bull (terriers, thanks! ). Maybe it's not the protein. But the fact that there are hormones (both, natural and unnatural) in there, have an effect on testesterone/estrogen? No clue.
