Has anyone ever gotten a piece of steel or wood lodged in their eye?

I was using one of these:

to grind some threaded rod out of a concrete floor and a small chunk of steel happened to fly under my safety goggles and embed itself into my eye.

To remove it the eye doctor numbed my eye and used a tweezer to extract the steel, then used another tool to scrape the surface of my eye where the steel entry point was so as to heal better. They said the steel had left a rust ring where it entered.

    Odd....
