I plan on taking LSD soon and I have a couple of concers I'd like to have your opinions on: I have no one that could 'sit' for me, what should I do? (Do I need one?) What's to happen if it goes bad? (Besides taking that cup of chemicals - I wont be able to get all of them.) I must stay inside of my house, are there any problems you could think of? I'd love any feedback I could get.
A sitter isn't truely necessary; if you've tripped before on mushrooms or similar psychedelics you shouldn't have any problems. However, if something DOES go bad, no one will be there to help you; the least thing to do would be to setup a friend you could call should things slip into the deep end. If your parents won't be home, or if they'll be in bed (and you know they won't be getting up) you'll be fine...it's unlikely that they'll notice you tripping, however, running into authority figures when you're tripping isn't the most pleasant experience I could think of.
Ok. One problem (or so people have told me) is that I have not experimented with psychedelics before... I honestly believe though, that I am ready for this...
i would say lay off those footlong chili cheese dogs from sonic, or anything from sonic or similar to that crap for that matter, for a number of reasons, haha... eat more fruits and veggies a week before and you will probably feel a lot better generally and therefore reduce the risk of a bad trip, getting negative energy out of your body drinking more water... just start out with a relatively low dose for your first time, like acouple hits, and you might want to just read some books about tripping. one book that really made my trips a lot better, more beneficial and spiritual is called be here now by ram dass. there are probably tons out there though that are relevant and just really amazing, and you can probably find some good information reading the right things on the web if you dont wanna buy anything... you can never prepare/read too much...
yeah the two most influential books ive read are Be Here Now (ram dass) & The Psychedelic Experience (leary, metzner, alpert [aka ram dass]) just the title of 'Be Here Now' is incredibly power full.. on shrooms I meditated on just that phrase.. and really made myself concerned over 'being here now' it produced quite incredible results and ive seen many a copies of these and a lot of others on p2p networks and around the web..
Im curious Nathan, did you write your location "here & now" before or after you read the above advice? cool coincidence, if you wrote it before
some good advice already-heres more: start with one dose-never know how strong the stuff is. give it an hour to kick in. dont rush it. go with the flow-worst trips i ever had, i tried to plan them and when things went off kilter I went all to hell -if you do it with someone else-whether theyre dosed or not, make sure you trust them implicitly-tripping is not the time to get to know a person better (except yourself) you wont get hungry-have some water (in a plastic cup) handy i doubt you'll make it outside your first trip-your room will suddenly seem SOOOO amazing! good luck. have fun
my first trip.. I was too amazed at everything.. the posibilites.. all this new 'stuff' that no one ever tells you about.. it was like i felt as if i was a little kid again. or a baby.. everything was brand new... and the kicker was that it all came from within me..
It's not a coincidence, I've always meditated of the phrase (as a mantra even) and I've really wanted to read the book. And to your question, it's been like that for a while.
Outside... That's a topic I was curious about a lot. My friend told em about one of his trips, and it got REAL wierd for him. His house blew up and he ran outside. He had became a German Nazi. He picked up his riffle (PVC Piping) and ran down the street screaming in German... Heh, silly guy.
yah ive tripped many times without a sitter and its never a problem, just sometimes Ive felt a little lonely and wanted to talk with someone. If things do get rough(its happened before)...I usually sit in a smaller room with a blanket and just try and relax a bit...maybe watch a show or movie that youve seen many times to remind you of something enjoyable or peaceful to you. Staying inside the house is no problem either, its nice to go outside and explore nature if you can but its not necessary to enjoy the experience.
Fractual's advice was great..get all the negative vibes out of you. Don't fear it, just let it be. I know when I first started doing lsd, my fear of the drug, and just not knowing how to handle it would usually send me on a road I didn't wanna be on. I guess those were demons I had to face though. I never saw things quite the same after I tripped the first time. All the ugly was so much more apparent, but the beauty..ahh, it was magnified beyond comprehension. The experience goes way beyond the drug. You carry what you learn with you, I truly believe it can be a tool. As far as where to trip, I prefer being outside, during the day, with other people on my level. Daytripping is the best IMO. I have always had better experiences during the day. You definately want people you trust with you, preferably a couple of people who have tripped before. If I'm tripping, I want everyone who is with me tripping as well. I feel like it's a journey you take together, and anyone who isn't on your level will probably bring you down...it's happened to me, anyway. I always did it with the same people back in the day. We'd leave on Fri night, and usually go to this cool cave we found near one of my friends house, and just stay all weekend. Definately some life changing experiences happened to all of us, that we still talk about. I have only tripped by myself a couple of times, and they were both really nice experiences. I don't think I'd want to be alone my first time though..but that's just me. Just do whatever feels comfortable to you. Good luck finding any..the only time I can get it is at a festival. Let us know how it goes if you decide to do it, I'm sure you're gonna really enjoy it.
