i've been thinking about this, and i'm wondering if there are any neurological risks to having hundreds of little hairs yanked out all at once. i mean, really, that's a pretty big shock to the system!!

I get waxed all the time, so much easier. I've never had any neurological probs with it, but yeah it is a shock, but you kinda get used to it after a minute or so!

It hurts, I guess (never had it done) but I can't see how it would cause neurological problems.

hm, well i guess i was thinking about studies that they've done on baby rats where they do a heel prick and then find that later on, the rat has more pain receptors in that area. i dont think they find the same kind of results in fullgrown rats though

i suppose i could look thru pubmed or google scholar and search for studies correlating waxing body hair with neurological disorders. i'm not sure what the technical term for "waxing body hair" would be though!! LOL

it just seems like one of those things that wouldnt necessarily be researched or that if there was research indicating that it was harmful, that those findings wouldnt be readily available to the public.

<shrug> women have been removing hair from their bodies for a looooong time, maybe it doesnt cause any long term damage.

Hmm, it would be interesting to find out. Let us know what you find.
