my room mate got a promotion at his job... sounds great, right? well, it was until his boss informed him that'd he'd have to take a hair follacle test. Is there any way to fool a test like that? What if he bleached his hair? Does that kill everything stored in your hair follacles? It'd be way too obvious if he shaved it off at this point. What if they want a leg hair or something instead? he really digs this job, and would be disappointed to lose it.... what should he do?? HELP PLEASE!
did he have to pee test for the job originally? He could fight it. Usually, either the full staff has to be tested, or there has to be an incident like and accident, but not necessarily, to initiate a test. I am curious what the gig is...
oh really? yes, he did have to pee first, and he passed. he works for a windshield/glass warehouse, and i'm pretty sure the promotion he's getting will require him to drive. So how would he go about fighting it? He's a rather timid person, though... so i'm not sure it'd be worth it to him.
ALSO, does bleaching really work for these tests? And another concern... do they take the hair from your head or will they try to pluck an arm hair or something?

Unfortunately, bleaching doesn't won't work or cutting one's hair. It is the root of the hair that is tested (where hair dye or bleach doesnt' reach). They will most likely pluck a hair from the person's head (I've never heard of it being taken from anyplace else). From what I understand, because the root is being tested, it doesn't really matter if someone has a crew cut or hair down to their waist...whatever drugs the person did three years ago isn't going to be "trapped" in the portion of that person's hair that is past their ears or near their waist.
Yes, this can and has been done on people with dreadlocks. They do not need the whole hair, they just need the root. No, they won't be trying to unravel or detangle someone's dreadlocks. They'll take one or two hairs and cut it away from the dreadlock and then pluck it from the head.
