I think you spoke before knowing his situation and struck a nerve. I'm sure you did so unintentional but going forward if specifics are not stated/listed perhaps you should inquire before hand...Just a suggestion as many of us have very different situations for many different reasons and may/may not divulge everything within a single post.

 

After rereading what I said to Hike247 I look like a mad-dog crazy. That was not how I intended to sound. But you are correct unless stated in a post never assume you know the situation or the true facts.
I plead guilty of sometime passing judgment and making assumptions based on non-existent information. Shame on me.

I don't think it is as easy as that. Not every man, hell, very few men, are lucky enough to have an understanding spouse. In this day and age a man is still not allowed to show his sexuality. Why threaten your marriage, your family, your career, etc. because society doesn't allow you to be who you are. If my wife hadn't confessed her lesbian inclinations to me, I don't know that I would have been able to tell her of my homosexuality.

 

Yep, I personally hid my activities with other men for 20 years from my first wife for just this reason. I confessed my sexual desires early on while dating my present wife and she's been understanding and accepting from the start. She knows it's who I am and has no desire to change me as she loves me for who and what I am.
