This probably isn't what you want to hear, but you're not going to find genuine hippie clothes online because what made the style so unique was that it was mostly all home-made and original.

Making your own will definitely result in cooler clothes.

You can find vintage patterns from the 60's and 70's on ebay as well as other places on the web. Most of the time they are in mint or near mint condition. This would be a great way to get the clothes you are looking for. I found a bell bottoms pattern for sale on ebay the other day.

I say ebay and thrift stores... Im not a big fan of the vintage stores online.. they have a few really good things but not to much.... I always score better at thrift shops and tag sales

    ebay for sure.
i find thrift stores are often more likely to carry rejects from the early 90s. [IMG]

when i was in high school (eons ago!), i used to be able to find all kinds of 'real' hippy threadz. that was back in the days before vintage and thrifting was a mainstream thing though.

some eclectic second hand shops still have the real dealz, but you're going to pay a lot of money for anything authentic.

Yeah really, I found GREAT stuff thrift shoppin in the early 90's. Now that its more mainstream people can buy at thrift shops and jack up the price online. Sometimes though you can still score at thrift shops. I mostly find older patterns and adjust them to how I want it to look. Thats the benefit of knowing how to sew, you can make exactly what you want.

hey there, I collect/wear and re-make original late 60's/early 70's clothes. The best place I can suggest is the vintage section of ebay, there's loads of psych clothes, shoes and bags and alot of vintage patterns so you could get hold of some material and make you're own. The best thing to do is just mix it up, be creative, I search modern clothing stores for pieces I can adjust and make unique, I tend to buy my flares and trousers new and then add vintage tops/kaftans and beat boots and handbags to make it all look unique and to the style I want. Use your imagination and have fun.
