And I really don't understand your signature pic unless you really truly think that by having the balls to execute thousands of people as well as organisms and poison the planet on which you live it makes you better than someone else.

Its my humble opinion that no one is no better than anyone else. We all have different talents and genuises and when we can learn to use them together the world is a much nicer and safer place.

You associate "I" as in who you are - with one of the most destructive manmade forces on the planet??????

For whoever said that its not hard to leave...I'm sure it is a lot harder for people trying to get in america.People from the worst places in the world somehow manage to get here and start new lives.I'm sure if they can do it you can too.

i guess what gets annoying is that for a while we just keep hearing "if bush wins, i'm leaving the country." and "i wish i was canadian," "europe is so much better" and "i hate americans." but when it comes time to put up or shut up, they don't go anywhere.

Damn right. To see why all you have to do is go driving past any government housing project and count the satellite TV dishes and the cars parked out front. This is poverty in America. I know there are people here that are worse off, sleeping in subways and under bridges, single moms not able to feed their kids... but take a look around. We are blessed here. Sure other countries have great things to offer...but there are more people moving here than leaving here.

Piez, you're young yet. You still haven't outgrown the shell your parents and teachers placed on you. Hopefully someday you will.

I never heard any American progressive say "I hate Americans". You made that up, and you know that's exactly what you did. Get some better material. That was really fuckin stupid.

:D I kind of did, "My whole opinion is this: Americans ( as a whole) are spoiled, selfish, self absorbed, ignorant, rude, immature, overfed, overpampered, addicted and just generally a drag to be around."

sorry man, that just didn't fly at all. I don't think you have a plan B either.

And no, I never heard anyone say that. I've heard people say "Americans are so ignorant" and stuff like that. But someone actually saying and adamently meaning they "hate, despise, loathe, want the death of, etc"...no, that's never been said. And stop taggin up with rightwing gov't forces (intentionally or not) trying ever so slickly to "unite" progressive leftists with Islamic terrorism. IT WON'T WORK. We have a tradition to back us up on that...the 60s, muthafucker.

Thats never been said because you claim not to have heard it? Talk about being stunningly full of shit. And btw I am FAR from right wing. And what the hell did the 60's really do for us anyway? It's been a long time since then and I really dont see what difference the whole 60s movement has made in the 21st century. And you being 26 gives you no right to claim the 60's as your tradition bud. *click* Thanks for calling.

Apparently then because I'm only 26, and wasn't around for the birth of Christ, I also have no right to claim the tradition of Christmas as my own, and have no right to celebrate it. Oh wait, then neither do you! STOP CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS.

Again, nice try. But no cigar buddy.

We have to give the 60s some credit. It marked the end of the U.S. as a segregated society. That was the last major social change the U.S. has seen. There have been minor movements with the anti-abortion, gay rights, and animal rights groups, but nothing comparable to the magnitude of the civil rights movement of the 60s. The women's movement also had a lot of steam in the late 60s and early 70s.

In the 60s and 70s, people would propose acts and Constitutional amendments to protect people's rights. Today we hear the President calling for an amendment to ban a right from a particular group. The atmosphere in the U.S. has really changed since the 60s.

at least I have a point, unlike yourself.

Why don't you go watch Access hollywood, pretty yourself up while you do that, and go clubbing with the rest of the mindless drones you probably associate with on a regular basis. You're dumb, and you have no business even TRYING to argue with anyone who knows about politics and social issues. Buh bye!

Shaggie, there are plenty of progressive groups springing up all over the place these days. You just have to watch for them.

There were in the 50s too. It just took time for the movements to develop.

*snort* Being 31 doesn't mean you've been around the block either, buddy.

And if you have to ask about what happen in the 60's that influences us in the 21st century, may I suggest you get off your rear, go pick up several tomes that document the 60's. Did you some how forget that it was the time of the civil rights? Duh, one of the main rememberances during black history month. Massive protests against the war (something unheard of in the 40's even if it existed in small amounts), musical revolutions....but I digress.
Go read it for yourself-maybe you'll actually sound less silly when making such statements, Mr. 31 year old.
