Why do you drink alchohol but stay away from Cannabis?

Drinking makes me flirty and sociable... smoking pot makes me horny and hungry and depending on the quality of the stuff, it might make me irritable and moody.

Alcohol has the same effect EVERY time.. weed doesn't ..

Besides... I couldn't go in and apply for a job out of fear that they'd test me for drugs and find I've been smoking weed. Just not worth it to me at all.

 

AZ has some harsh drug laws....

 

as for pot not being addictive, sheesh. speak for yourselves. i've watched a lotta friends struggle with putting it down and keeping it in it's place. and when they couldn't get their fucking weed, it was MY HEAD being chewed off.

 

id rather smoke than drink.

i got sick of drinking, it just takes too much out of me and lost its appeal

 

YEAH, i SEEN THAT TOO...damned caps lock......Of all my stoner drinking pals from growing up, it is only the stoners that still live their parents aND have no job, just selling enough weed to smoke for free and buy munchies. Mind you I been out of school for 14 years now, and these guys graduated with me. The drunks may be mean to thier bodies and those they should cherish, but for some reason the thought of a 31 year old man that still gets an allowance is more pathetic.

 

It is addictive just not as much compared to alcohol. I might just be speaking for myself though I quit at a time I had a lot going on. I probably didn't give myself enough time to stop and crave it.

 

yeah. my husband and his sister both had a very nasty experience with it that made pot pretty much intolerable for them. passing out, nailing their heads, MASSIVE panic attacks. just a sudden sort of thing, years apart. their bodies just didnt' want it anymore. but it makes them both really sad, because they loved it SO MUCH.

 

yeah, I have trouble not drinking when I can, but put me to sea and since I cant, I just dont. no jonesing. Pot was sort of similar, once I decided( realized) what was causing the attacks, the stopping came easy, til i TOLD MY BUDDIES , then it became a game to them. 11 years of taking a hit every time a joint is handed to me is a HARD HABIT TO BREAK. DAMNED CAPS LOCK!!!!! especially when drunk......

 

i dont smoke because i'm allergic to pot
and it's still a criminal offence where i live

i drink socially once in a while, but usually just 1/2 a drink or so~hardly ever enough to get a buzz

 

I put up with the attacks for about a year, before I would face the fact that this plant I loved so much was not loving me back

 

The worst part is, that in Alaska you can actually posess marijuana without getting charged

 

i here alot of people saying they dont do it cause its illegal, but come on its not like your gonna do any jail time for simple possesion, most likely the cops will either throw your weed out or if their real pricks a fine.

smoking weed is my passion, i use my head and get high in my house, for the most part.

 

I stay away from the smoke only because I have to. The Navy drug tests more than any other branch of the military. We have random tests every two weeks. Sometimes you can go months without having to take one but sometimes you end up taking fouror five in a row. As bad as my luck is I cant take that chance. The benefits I recieve in the military make sure my child will be taken care of no matter what happens to me. And if by some chance I die the life insurance policy I have through the Navy will make damn sure he is well taken care of. When it comes to that little guy the abstinence from weed is only a small sacrifice. Do I miss it? HELL YES I MISS IT. do I drink? Yes but very rarely. When in port I only drink once or twice a month. Now when Im overseas thats a different story. What the hell else is there to do in Brest France or Faslane Scotland?

I wish to God that our government would legalize. When CLinton was President I had hope that it would at least be decriminalized but with the current administration I dont see that happening.

So all of you out there that smoke on a daily basis, toke up once for me.

 

the army reserves no longer tests. everybody was trying to get out of going to iraq so the brass said fuckit, get high, your the one gonna die because your reflexes are slow.

 

I drink but never smoke because I have a good reaction from alcohol and a terrible reaction to pot. Also, I would never smoke because my lungs are already weak and I don't want to destroy them any more, and eating pot only makes me freak out more.

 

I only drink a little, for the taste of it, like one glass at dinner or maybe two. Been drunk once, didn't like it, didn't do it again. I don't like getting drunk/high/etc, I'm plenty of weird already But also I wouldn't smoke pot because I wouldn't want to smoke anything... I have several friends who smoke pot, who smoke cigarettes, and even a few who smoke herbal stuff in their pipes. Pot & pipe smoke smells pretty good second-hand, but I still wouldn't want a lung-full of it, just the thought almost gives me a coughing fit!

 

I don't like alcohol that much cause, sometimes when I would drink the next day I would have this huge headache, and I would be throwing up every 5 mines, I am very healthy and I have put on like 20 pounds, and that’s great for me, I don't want to mess that up, and start loosing weight cause I have been throwing up all day. When I smoke pot, I get really happy and zone out and eat allot of food. I don't get sick or scared sometimes paranoid but that’s normal for me nothing I can't handle.

So I prefer pot, cause I don’t get sick.

 

Well, i get no problematic paranoia when stoned, nor do i get social anxiety so i love it. And as long as i can do double-extension-maths and still smoke every day, i dont worry about academic problems.

someone said that they like the way alchohol is the same experience every time.. well thats one of the thigns i like about weed, its dependant on your mind and your own inner mental-power.
I am a happy, extraextraverted drunk, but i just find that the entertainment i get from weed is worth something.. while that of alchohol is just like throwing away sense and replacing it with recklessness and stuff. So ive got nothing against getting drunk, its just nothing special. it was once. that was when it was all i knew.
And stoned conversations are far from lame if you and your smoking buddies are smart people (and that has nothing to do with grades)

i respect the decision to choose alchohol over weed if weed has been tried, but i dont respect the decision to not do things because of a pre-imposed belief or oppinion. especially if the reason is that 'it's toxic and kills braincells'.

 

I completely prefer pot over alcohal. I've never liked drinking or how I feel when I drink...I don't like getting drunk. I love to smoke though. I love everything about pot.
