Hello from sunny southern Kalifornien. We are a small collective of folks taking care of the earth, living part-time on a Bio-Farm in a coastal valley...and part-time indigenos in the mountains on beautiful native land surrounded by the Cahuilla Indian Reservation.
Our Bio-Farm has over 30 types of fruits, such as: avocados, figs, carob, grapefruit, kaki, apples, plums, jujube, Indian Apple, Indian Fig, Asian pear, guava, Catalina native cherries, lemons, macadamia nut, che, prune, pineapple-guava, apricot, peach, blood orange, loquat, sapote, mulberries, oranges, etc. We have a climate similar to Spain or Greece.
At our mountain camp in the California desert we are covering a tipi that sits between 2 waterfalls near a deep pool...and farther down the stream there are awesome Indian caves that we sleep in underneath giant granite boulders next to an even deeper pool, with barrel cactus on the hillsides.
There are more American Indian legends connected with our mountain Canyon than any other place in California except Yosemite.
To us this is the way to live life, balancing the agrarian with the primitive, and we honor native cultures and believe in a natural foods diet.
We also honor the original "hippies" who immigrated to California about 100 years ago from Germany, and anyone well informed knows that the American hippie phenomenom during the 1960's really began in Germany in the 19th century....then was introduced by people like Bill Pester (photo below) who was born in Saxony in 1886 and left Germany in 1906 to avoid military service...then came to California to live wild in nature on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation in the same canyons where our mountain ashram is located. The Indians loved Pester. In 1906 they had never seen a white man who wanted to live like an Indian, wild and primitive.
This year we are experiencing an exceptionally wet winter with record rainfall...so it promises to be an incredible spring and summer in the mountains.
We are interested in connecting with young folks in Europe who share similar interests. Check out our web site at: www.wildernesscollective.com
