This is so true. Just do it (like Nike, but without the Nike’s ) No one cares anyway, they are too busy thinking about their own stuff. The worst thing that can happen is “look, they have no shoes, ha”. And then they’re onto the next thing, within 2 minutes it’s forgotten. And if it’s not one thing it’s another anyway, shoes or no shoes - there is always someone ready to take the piss. So just don’t worry about it!
If you are barefoot in everyday life, it's quite normal to go shopping without shoes. I never had problems with that. No store banned me because of my bare feet, even though it isn't usual to be barefoot in public here, especially in winter. I'm barefoot all year round.
This is tough to do in our judgemental world. Maybe go in flip flops and slip them off. When the mall cops freak out, slip them on. Plan for failure.
Just go for it. People will judge you for something so it might as well be your lack of shoes! Im lucky enough to live in Aus. at the moment. Most people don’t like bf in the mall, but it is tolerated. And there are always others barefoot too (I saw four today, two guys about my age, and two young women). I’ve yet to come across any ‘mall cops’. I hope I don’t!
here in New Zealand, you can pretty much go anywhere in bare feet, no problems. I saw that comment about Sylvia Park (back on page two). I remember that caused such an uproar, because it was "taking' away our freedom to be Kiwi's and be barefoot....i have been hundreds of times to Sylvia Park in bare feet with out an issue.....again one of those rogue security guards with a brain explosion! you americans want to stand up for yourselves and demand your freedom!!!! you're vocal enough on every other subject!
