Congress took away our constitution rights, shredded the judicial system, and has many more fans where those came from. It seems the only people who support congress, have Wall Street addresses.

Trump knew Pence was in danger early in the riot.

Tuberville says he informed Trump of Pence’s evacuation before rioters reached Senate

    excerpt:

"Sen. Tommy Tuberville revealed late Wednesday that he spoke to Donald Trump on Jan. 6, just as a violent mob closed in on the the Senate, and informed the then-president directly that Vice President Mike Pence had just been evacuated from the chamber.

“I said ‘Mr. President, they just took the vice president out, I’ve got to go,'” Tuberville (R-Ala.) told reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday night, saying he cut the phone call short amid the chaos.

The existence of the phone call had been previously reported, but the detail that Tuberville informed Trump his vice president was in danger is a new and potentially significant development for House prosecutors seeking Trump’s conviction: it occurred just around the time that Trump sent a tweet attacking Pence for not having “the courage” to unilaterally stop Joe Biden’s victory. And Trump never indicated publicly that he was aware of Pence’s plight, even hours after Tuberville says he told him.

It’s long been unclear precisely when Trump learned of the danger that Congress and his vice president faced — though it was broadcast all over live television — but Tuberville’s claim would mark a specific moment Trump was notified that Pence had to be evacuated for his own safety.

Aides to the former president did not immediately return a request for comment."

As the attack upon the U.S. Capitol was “unfolding on television, Donald Trump was walking around the White House confused about why other people on his team weren’t as excited as he was as ... That was happening. He was delighted.”
The “greatest symbol around the world of freedom and liberty” was “ransacked by a mob that was incited by the president of the United States....While blood was actually being shed in the Capitol, and I was in the Senate chamber, and the Secret Service was trying to rush the vice president to safety, at those exact moments, the president is rage tweeting against the vice president. Why? Because Vice President Pence had the audacity to fulfill his oath of office to the Constitution,”
    Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.)

Trump Was ‘Delighted’ His Supporters Stormed The Capitol, Says GOP Sen. Ben Sasse

Trump Was 'Delighted' His Supporters Stormed The Capitol, Says GOP Sen. Ben Sasse | HuffPost

    excerpt:

"There’s no question Trump was “derelict in his duty,” said the senator, but declined to say if he should be impeached or forced out of office through the 25th Amendment.

Sasse insisted the president has a “brokenness in his soul,” and that he’s “addicted to social media and to television, and to division.” The senator said that no matter what actually happened in the election, if he lost, Trump long planned to “say the election was being stolen, and the people needed to rise up.”

After the mob had pushed into the Capitol, Trump finally issued a video message asking his supporters to “go home,” adding: “We love you, you’re very special.”"

Trump had the power to stop the crimes in progress but instead, poured fuel on the fire. I believe there are laws requiring you to help victims if you can, and that's just for ordinary citizens. The president is required to fulfill his oath under the Constitution, which he clearly did not do.

What's going to happen, though, like spineless Marco Rubio, Republicans are going to use the excuse that they believe the impeachment trial is unConstitutional since Trump is no longer president. That should be a decision left for an appeal by Trump to the Supreme Court -- not to Senators.

    So...

will the democrats foil the republicans and prove that Donald Trump had control of the Capitol Conspiracy? :D

    The media frenzy is palpable.

I'm having a hard time buying in. I feel like a dupe if I even give the impeachment trial the time of day. Let me explain...

It's sort of a foregone conclusion for me. Donald Trump may have egged on an angry, rowdy crowd of Trump-ers, but they're saying he did more than that, right? I don't care if he did or not. He's out of the White House. They can lock him up on tax fraud instead and not bother trying to stretch the reality around incitement.

Inciting. Is that even legalese? I'm sorry... I'm just bitter. I didn't like the entire presidency. It's dreadful! I just want it to be over...

He definitely didn't live up to the ethos of the office. I think that's the thrust of my opinion. There's a severe lack of tact in the way he governed, to put it mildly.

I'd settle on prison for tax fraud - but that, too, will never happen. He can safely tie that up in the courts until he croaks from his ego-itis. Nothing is going to shut him up until the photos of him and Epstein's young girls (and boys) finally come out.

Laws are for losers, the same ones still insisting the Tea Party is a legitimate political party.

Democrats just need to follow Republican logic. Be very clear Biden will be doing whatever he wants. You know since a president can't be charged with anything during or after their term. Same with Obama and Hillary. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. The left is in power now and they don't plan to have any compromise. "Fuck your feelings" as they say. It would be funny to see the Trump cult say it's different with Biden. In his case it's the American thing to do to charge a president with crimes.

Interesting to me that 5 years after Obama or Hillary have had any power the right wing still lusts for their arrest. They don't move on as they demand the left does. Trump is still the leader of the GOP. His power and evidence of a crime are far more then Hillary's email. The Trumps also made similar breaches of computer security too but that was different of course and lost in the tide of other crimes.

He won't be convicted by the goverment he will be as a private citizen. There are too many cases against him and his reputation is ruined. Poor Americans worship him but none of them can fund his lifestyle of gifting. He can't get another loan to pay off the last one anymore.

There is no justice in or out of court. Clarence Darrow

Justice goes to the highest bidder, and the Tea Party is threatening to kill anyone who bids higher than they do.

Trump Was Sicker Than Acknowledged With Covid-19
When hospitalized with the coronavirus in October, his blood oxygen levels had plunged and officials feared he was on the verge of being placed on a ventilator.

Trump Was Sicker Than Acknowledged With Covid-19

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — President Donald J. Trump was sicker with Covid-19 in October than publicly acknowledged at the time, with extremely depressed blood oxygen levels at one point and a lung problem associated with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus, according to four people familiar with his condition.

His prognosis became so worrisome before he was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that officials believed he would need to be put on a ventilator, two of the people familiar with his condition said.

The people familiar with Mr. Trump’s health said he was found to have lung infiltrates, which occur when the lungs are inflamed and contain substances such as fluid or bacteria. Their presence, especially when a patient is exhibiting other symptoms, can be a sign of an acute case of the disease. They can be easily spotted on an X-ray or scan, when parts of the lungs appear opaque, or white.

Mr. Trump’s blood oxygen level alone was cause for extreme concern, dipping into the 80s, according to the people familiar with his evaluation. The disease is considered severe when the blood oxygen level falls to the low 90s."

Wasn't it just three days ago they swore an oath before God and country to uphold the constitution and to be fair and unbiased -.....ok.......

Three GOP senators meet with Trump's lawyers on eve of impeachment defense presentation

A trio of Republican senators allied with former President Donald Trump met with his defense team Thursday evening, in the middle of an impeachment trial in which they will vote on whether to convict Trump and potentially bar him from holding public office again.

Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah were spotted going into a room in the US Capitol that Trump's lawyers were using to prepare for their arguments.

Trump lawyer David Schoen said that the senators were "very friendly guys" who just wanted to make sure they were "familiar with procedure" on the eve of their rebuttal to the House impeachment managers' presentation.

When asked if it's appropriate to meet with senators during the trial, Schoen said, "Oh yeah, I think that's the practice of impeachment."

"There's nothing about this thing that has any semblance of due process whatsoever," he added.

Former Republican officials consider splitting from GOP to form new party

    excerpt:

"A number of mostly former Republican officials are discussing how to move the party forward in the aftermath of the Trump presidency, raising the possibility of a formal split from the GOP, according to two people leading the discussions.

Reuters first reported that dozens of these party faithful are in talks to form an anti-Trump third party. Two of the leaders, Evan McMullin, a former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference who ran for president in 2016 as an independent, and Miles Taylor, a former Trump administration Homeland Security official, told CBS News that that a decision on this has not been made yet. The discussions may also result in creating a faction within the GOP."

The GOP would never be happy if they couldn't peck one another to death, but talk is about as cheap as they are.
