My girlfriend is now fat!

If you are that shallow... leave her... I mean, I could kinda understand if you thought it was unhealthy of her to put on that much weight and you were worried about her.. or if SHE was worried about it then you may want to concider helping her lose it. For HERSELF but, it didnt really seem that way. How would you feel if she was saying that stuff about you...

Probably because she's got an asshole like you, saying shit like that to her. Self-esteem, honey... You bash it, bad things will happen.

 

I know why everyone's so upset. He didn't put it in the best way. But I havea real probelm with people who say what's wrong with being fat. It's unhealthy. If you're fat because you let yourself go and are lazy you DO need to lose some weight. And guys get fat and women leave them too so lets stop blaming fatness on the attitudes of men and women.

We get fat if we're not careful and while a few extra pounds ain't bad, it sounds like she has a problem and needs to do something about it. I would want my man to get on my ass if I got fat just because i'm lazy.

this guy hasn't given many details though. she could be on depo, she could have been pregnant recently, ect. All good reasons to have gained a few pounds and that's not really in her control. But if it's from excessive eating, I don't know why so many people are saying "it's ok! have a heart attack as long as your're happy!!"

I'll probably be hanged for that, but I"m not rooting for obesity.

I was put on deprovera that stupid shot and put on 25 pounds cause of it, I worked out everyday and ate nothing shitty and yes I gave up beer (haha i know it was hard ) but it didnt come off at fucking all... the only way it came off for me was when i got off depro then i got back to my size i was...
So, there are times you just cant help being overweight at times...

 

It sounds as though your girlfriend ( who you really dont deserve with that attitude of yours!) is going through some problems. She may just be waiting to open up to you abt it, because she TRUSTS you, and all you can do is focus on yourself, making out that you got a raw deal or something because shes put on weight??! what a fucking loser!! You should try and help her get through whatever it is shes going through - you should try joining a gym together or maybe even go on a diet with her to give her moral support - something to show that you're supporting her.

one of my friends sisters gained 70 pounds in 6 months because of depo. She was taken off and it took months for her to lose the weight. She was pissed.

But at least her man understood and wasn't a superficial asshole. He worked out with her and tried to help instead of calling her fat and proclaiming that NO ONE should be fat. that comment disgusted me. Some people are just fat and its hereditary and tehres nothing short of surgery that they can do.

 

You have a good point man.Thats a lot of weight , someone who gains that much is not taking care of themseleves.Time to move on and find another girl.

Who is rooting for obesity? I didn't see anyone talking about advocating everyone be fat? If someone is overweight but still is happy with themselves who in the name of Zeus are you to to say they are wrong for thinking that way? So what if someone is fat, is that not on them? If they are happy being chubby who are you to call them lazy or overeaters? Especially since none of us here (except those who happen to really know folks on this site) really know what other people do in their spare time.

What I get sick of are people who use generalizations like they are freakin' experts on the subject. Do you live your life in generalizations? Do you think all black people are loud? Do you think all latin/hispanic/mexican people a can't speak english? Do you figure all white people from the south are rednecks? Guess what? Those are all generalizations and generalizations are a form of racism as I see. How shallow-minded of you. How much do you know about overeating/eating disorders, hm? Ever heard of those? Do you know what causes them? Do YOU? Obsessive compulsive disorder, know of it/symptoms/causes? Maybe imaginary/might be real girlfriend has one of these? And hello! Not all pregnant women get fat after having a baby. Some don't even gain weight during the pregnancy-its all baby.

Instead of slamming those who are proud of themselves despite carrying some extra pounds, cheer them for loving themselves. That is hard to do in a society that spend much time trying to copy what is on the boob tube.

well, treating the OP as truthful, we don't really know how thin she was to begin with. i listened to my dad bash my mom for 10 years for being fat, when she was in fact a long disatance runner and an athlete. she weighed 98 pounds, and i think 10 of that was hair (which my father would not allow her to cut). my mom was the most beautiful woman in the world, but it still wasn't good enough for my father. after they got a divorce, mom cut her hair all off and quit killing herself to weigh nothing. she's never had long hair again. though after she had my baby brother at the age of 43, she put on some tonnage and decided "fuck it, i don't want you step father touching me anymore anyway." and decided to keep it. she's just as hyper as she ever was, but she's not thin.

then there's my brother. he met a lovely girl at the gym where they both worked out. she was in perfect condition: excellent muscle mass, perfect body fat percentage, everything in perfect tune. guess what? it wasn't good enough for james. every time she'd eat soemthing that wasn't non fat or had sugar, he'd comment. guess what, her hair is down past her ass now and she weighs 76 lbs at 5'7". she's very sick, shes totally insane. apparently she'd already suffered from bulimea as a teenager, james helped her right back into an eating disorder. i know how she felt, he rode my ass my entire life, too, it's disgusting.

me, i'd never been real thin. but i'm strong, i'm healthy, i'm curvy, i'm beautiful. after my pregnancy which had me laying on my left side for 8 months and continuing blood pressure problems that had me off my feet while i breastfed, i gained a shit pile of weight. my husband has been wonderful. the weight is coming off, slowly, healthfully, i'm doing awesome. so all i have to say to men who can't stand looking at 'fat' women:

CUT YOUR FUCKING EYES OUT YOU FUCKING PRICKS! CUT OUT YOUR HATEFUL TONGUE WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO TOUCH HER FEET, MUCH LESS TELL HER HOW TO LIVE HER FUCKING LIFE!! SEEK LIFE ELSEWHERE!

i gaurantee she'll have an easier time finding a new mate than you will once she's over her depression that more than like you're helping her into by trying to control her.

It was a post that obviously was done by someone completely off-base from reality. I think we're all taking it a bit too far and incinuating things. Based on the OP's comments, I don't know how we got to thinking that the girl is mooching off him or that she doesn't work and she just sits home all day and complains.

That's the problem with forums, we don't get the entire story...

 

who said we are all hippys? You are a huge hyporcrite..you said that people calling you an asshole was unhippy (whatever the fuck that is ) but yet you call your gf names, like fatass and such...hmm i smell hypocrisy..

 

Perhaps you should be concerned with her health rather than what she looks like. I can partly understand your dissapoinment, after all you probably found her extremely attractive to begin with and for that to change is sometimes heartbreaking (Kirsty Alley?) and if a person has decided that they can let themselves go now that they are withsomeone show a disregard for their partner. People that are fat and happy about it is awful and they are promoting a deadly lifestyle. What is there to be proud of about being a lazy greedy bastard? Particularly when there are people who can't afford to eat at all?

And they ARE an inconvinience, ever got stuck behind one while waking through a shopping centre? They think it is fine to carry their massive arse around at snails pace and to hold people up. The worst ones are the ones with fat kids, they choose to risk their children having significantly shorter lives.
