You keep on highlighting abuse statistics in India projected by Indian journalists while ignoring those in Australia which still has a gory violence record inspite of having a miniscule population and a high GDP per capita.

A major cause of these issues in India is the Indian government's lax regulations and naive approach with respect to the pornographic industry and liquor industry. I have explained how these have been subjected to heavy regulation in recent years due to protests and abuse issues. Those states and regions where there has been liquor prohibition has shown vast improvement with respect to women's safety, and I am hoping that this will be implemented all over India as liquor as an intoxicant in prohibited in the major religions here.

In my own childhood the first and only pornographic books and videos I have seen were western. It was supposed to be adults only and banned , but they were seen and read by 12 year old children even then.

In retrospect, I really wish I never had access to those books or videos, because the sadistic content within truly dehumanised women and children and was gross and disgusting.

Western pornographic videos, books and magazines were somehow dumped in large quantities in India. This spawned a copycat porno industry in India which was however more laughable than sensual.

But all this had the effect of corrupting the local culture which emphasized spiritual bliss over sensual pleasures.


Cigarettes and foreign alcohol introduced in India by western companies using heavy advertising campaigns also played havoc with the local health systems. I think in this regard, India should have emulated its Islamic neighbors who had prohibited alcohol as unhealthy. Alcohol may perhaps be alright in the west which has a cold climate, but I don't think it is appropriate for a hot country like India unused to such hard intoxicants.

Mahatma Gandhi had also advocated liquor prohibition totally, but the government loves to quote and hail Gandhi but is lethargic in implementing his vision.

Poor administrative policies and measures by the Indian government had played a role in evolving such issues in India, but thankfully the protests and Indian journalists themselves have taken the government to task and brought about stringent rules and regulations in this regard.
