Its simple to use....Its like a new version of napster. Everyone knows how to use napster, rite? Well, when it was FREE to use neways. Stooooopid Metallica. But neways......... J.J
15 year old... Let's see... Yeah, you're to young to know about Napster. It's a thing of the past. (But seriously, it's the first commonly used P2P program)
bah, winmx sucks, i think... i had it a couple years ago, there was hardly anything on there... i use bearshare mostly (easiest one since napster, imo), and soulseek for stuff i cant find on bs (best and most used one, i believe)... check out bearshare... youre 15, so i doubt youre looking for any real rare stuff... www.bearshare.com (theres a free version... be careful what you download, i downloaded the one that costs money the first time )
Pf.. Bearshare is nothing. Use a hacked version of Kazaa ( http://www.lambanvoimaytinh.com/august/63/kazaagoldPremium.rar ) if you're serious about downloading, or Shareaza ( http://www.shareaza.com/ ) which may take some configuring but is also great.
That's why I gave you the URL for the hacked version. All spyware has been removed, and some new features added.
When I was using the free version of Napster back in the day (right before it shut down), you would have been about 7 or 8 years old. Something tells me you weren't downloading music then, but I guess I could be wrong.
Only things that end in .exe *executable* could be viri. Don't run anything that ends in .exe and you'll be 99% safe from viruses. Kazaa and winmx are equaly as likely to have viruses, but if you only get .mp3's, or .avi's or whatever you'll be safe. there are mp3.exe's and thoses are usually what get people viruses from... turn off .exe association on whatever media player your using. There is a way to put .exe's in regular .mp3's, but its supposed to be really hard to do... odd's are somebody with that kind of skill wouldn't be wasting their time writing viruses to screw over people downloading metallica off of the web. Oh, and if your downloading protected intellectual property, (ie: most MP3's) don't share!!!!
Been down the kazaa/xolox/morpheus/winmx/limewire/shareaza Roads but I'm staying w/BearShare and the Gnutella Network. It beats the others hands down in all Honesty. Use the ad supported version not BearShare Lite. You'll have better results. Pro's better still but it's not free. The adware is easily removed. See the BearShare Forums or PM me/Post here if you have any problems...
Actually, I think they meant that when you download Kazaa, you also get a nice bundle of adware for your computer. (That's true, by the way.)
Same goes with Bearshare, but you're warned about it... supposedly, Bearshare "needs" the adware TVMedia to run, but you can use Bazooka or Ad-Aware to get rid of it.. no more spyware, and Bearshare still works... with faster downloads than before . What the fuck do you know about it? You can't be serious unless you use Kazaa? Last time I used Kazaa, all the songs I downloaded were bugged... Soulseek is the one that is most used, I would imagine that if you were "serious" about downloading you'd use the one that has more files than any other. Just how would someone not be serious about downloading...?
Thats not the case with K++. Adware free, I ran spybot and adaware every day when I was on windows anyway.
WinMX is often used to download pirated files, so that's a no-no. But hey, why don't you go to http://www.archive.org/ I think that page rocks, you can download nostalgic files from there, and, well, hippies is supposed to be nostalgic beings.
