Tunic Top and little girls hip dress

I just finished this top today..and i made the pouch a week or so ago....and I did the appliques a few days ago...I made the dress for my cousin arianna...it's not done yet..i need to hack about 6 inches off the bottom and hem...and i should probably make a pair of bloomers to go underneath..i tried it on her..and it looked really cute!

I love the tunic! It's awesome! Tunics are my fave, comfy, comfy,comfy! Did you use a pattern? If so, where did you find it? I wanna make one.

The dress is super cute too. Love the bright, happy colours. It makes me dream of summertime and beaches.

Thanks guys! The shirt is soooo comfy..i have blue linen to make another one..and also this very native fabric ... I think on the blue one i will get creative and on all the top stiching i will do like rainbow colors..

and yes...for once i did use a pattern...well i lied..i used to pattern pieces and then just winged it..i hate patterns so much..they make things so much harder than they have to be...but..it is pattern simplicity 5197 they have 6 different tunics u can make..
although..this pattern looks way better!

And I agree, I hate patterns. I have a bunch, but i never use them, they confuse the hell out of me. I have to figure things out by trial and error. It's the only way I can understand what I'm doing.

 

Right right..i totally messed up on the sleeves..and so i had to be innovative to fix it...they say things in the directions that don't make sense...i have to read it like 15 times just to get it...

 

Cute! And I had that same lime green peace sign button on my jeans (worn by my mom in the '70s) because the button had come off. So I've gotta give the pouch extra lovin' on that factor!

Well, i have 15 cousins and they all have birthdays..so it's fun to make dresses or skirts for them..even if they are not little... Arianna is my 'god daughter' whatever that means..so her mother always expects things from me....lol
