Everyone seems very anti opiates here - which in some ways is reasonable. But is codeine really that addictive, I take it regularaly to relax or whatever and it doesn't seem problematic to me, its not that euphoric like stronger opiates, its just kinda weird either drowsyifying or sligtly stimulating - emtionally its just slightly happier than blank - I feel kinda more compassionate and hopefull about humanity on it but other than that its just blank - and even that goes away if you do it 2 days in a row (unless you take more and more each day).
I dunno, I just don't think you could get addicted to it, it doesn't feel addictive to me because if you take it more than a couple of days in a row its not pleasent anymore.

I mean when I was a young teenager and my body was probably less able to handle drugs and I was much smaller and whathave you it was different, I did actually manage to get physically dependent on codeine back then which sucked. But in my adult form I just cannot see how its possible.

    So yeah.

     Famous last words............

It's an opiate. It causes tolerance and dependence. It is not as strong as morphine or oxy or fent, but it is still an opiate.

mg for mg it is not as potent, but if dosed accordingly, it is just as strong, and almost as likely to cause addiction...

    Be Careful!

You have to admit, Photo, you'd have to take a HELL of a lotta code to get a fent like action! You'd puke from all the APAP as well, LOL. ;)

VERY TRUE! I am not sure that you could take enough codeine to equal fentanyl...

Codeine is available by itself, though, without APAP, and it is schedule II.

You would definately puke from that much codeine!

you can buy these pills online, nurofren +, and you just cut them in half longways, keep the + side and throw away the plain side, the + side is all codein and the plain side is all APAP since codein wont bind with APAP.

but anyways... codein is a pansy ass opiate, i dosed high as fuck, and only got high for like 10 min....

No one seems to have heard that large amounts of codeine has a speed effect.
essentially a low grade speed ball. 1 120mg dose of dihydrocodeine is about 10 mg hydrocodone. Is there any reasonable method of converting the codeine to CODONE, dihydrocodone is vicodin which is about 6 times stronger.
    Thanks, Bob

Codein can be addictive....I had a slight physical, and large mental addiction to the stuff :\ Not fun, waking up every morning feeling like you're gonna puke, never wanting to touch the stuff again.... until the pain goes away then you want it just one more time... Useless and depraving chemical... If you're just looking to relax I would stick to grass..

Hmm. How many Teaspoons of De-Chlor HC liquid cough syrup (ATuss HC) would you need.

um, the HC is for hydrocodone, not codeine.

Atuss HC (and the various generic alternatives) contains an antitussive, antihistamine, and decongestant. You wouldn't want to take more than the recommended amount, usually 1-2 teaspoonfuls every 4 to 6 hours, up to 4 doses per day (BUT this depends on your body weight & condition, follow YOUR doctors instructions). Too much of the antihistamine would make you very dry and very sleepy. Too much of the decongestant can make you nervous & jittery, make your heart race, and possibly damage your heart.

codone is not even an entity unto itself. It only exists as hydrocodone, oxycodone. dihydrocodone is NOT Vicodin. Vicodin is hydrocodone/APAP. Dihydrocodone is one ingredient in Synalgos DC, and in some combination antitussive/antihistamine/decongestant syrups.

I have NEVER heard of codeine possessing an amphetamine effect.

    My two bits about Codeine...

Yes it is not nearly as strong as hydrocodone or oxycodone - there are reports of people becoming hopefully addicted to codeine. Even so, some people can control themselves (you know who you are). *Before you try codeine test a very small dose because there is a much greater chance of being allergic than most rec drugs.*

Suprisingly enough sources I have looked over seem to claim that hydrocodone is ~6x stronger tha codeine. According to that equation, 20mg of hydrocodone ~= 120mg of codeine. Which is definitely NOT true, lol. I've taken 300mg with less than satisfactory results (I've read the max dose that you should take is about 350mg (with almost no tolerance) [can someone confirm this?]). It is no where near as euphoric as hydro so of course if you can get hydro buy that instead (its much more cost effective...$25 of codeine is a single dose, whereas $25 of hydro is usually enough for 2 or 3 doses).

A last tip - I've read that dosing codeine recreationally is best accomplished by taking the full dose all at once in the beginning. Apparently, further dosing into the experience is fairly ineffective as some type of receptor to the medication becomes partially blocked or impaired shortly after it has absorbed the starting dose.

Be safe and enjoy yourselves ^_^

EDIT: Check this neat little Java conversion program http://www.painresearch.utah.edu/cancerpain/provtoolsF.html

This narcotic dosage converter is a good tool, but (obviously) you still need to use caution!

Remember, this is giving a total DAILY dose, and not single doses.

    Here it is:

Hmm - having put a few figures into your tool it seems to be a bit more accurate than the one I've been using. Curiously, however, both seem to claim that an equal dosage of hydrocodone and oxycodone offers the same analgesic effect. This may actually be true pain wise, though as I stated before with the effects of codeine vs hydro I think that the feeling that you get is quite different.
