Unusual songs

There are many musicians who are known by the entire world. Some are real quality, others are just mindless puppets. That doesn't matter. This thread is about those musicians that the average person would never have heard of. And not only that they have to be unknown, but they also have to be unique in style or message.

Post a (legal, of course) URL to an mp3 of a song that is truly unlike anything that we've ever heard before. Possibly in a different language, even. If you don't know of an uncopyrighted song like that, just post the name and the name of the artist.

So... Expose me to something new. C'mon.

Check out Captain Beefheart. Most people don't know him, and his sound is quite unique.

 

there is a band from Texas called Eisley that i found very entertaining. They sound kinda like i imagine a band of fairies to sould like.... light and lilty with a touch of otherworldly-ness. They might be big in Texas.. or in other areas of the US, but no one i know in canada has heard of them.

 

What's it matter if it's legal or not... good luck finding a wide range of legal mp3's on the net, other than a few exceptions... www.brianjonestownmassacre.com is the only one that comes to mind, and has tons of mp3s on their site, mostly from them, but on the right side of their mp3 page, are nothing but different bands... Sky Parade and Sunstorm fucking rock.

I suppose I should contribute to my own thread. Here is a song by an artist that was very big in Russia during his life (1938-1980). I don't think anybody knows about him in the US, though, so here's one of his songs:

Yeah, he's not really unknown or anything. But that's still a fucking awesome song.

 

Bjork is the greatest original singer on the planet. I don't have an MP3 attached but listen to any of her songs on 'Medulla' and you will realize what true meaning and genius (and wierdness) all put together really is like.
