    HAD A 63' THAT LOOKED JUST ABOUT LIKE THIS ONE EXCEPT MINE HAD STRAIGHT PIPES--NO MUFFLERS --ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. SOUNDED GOOD!!

    Hodaka was a Japanese company. They supplied the engines and manufacturing and the U.S. based Pacific Basin Trading Company designed the bikes.
    They were real screamers for the time.
    I got to ride a Combat Wombat and an Ace, nice bikes. Light and lots of torque.

    found out from the local news, that this past weekend was the big deal biker gathering, so that probably has something to do with it, but been lots of loud scoots for at least that past month and a half. maybe just because of the nicer weather and less worries about the current pandemic.

    BSA collapsed in 1971. CCM was effectively one man buying up all their B50 spares and carrying on making scramblers for a few more years.
