I'm beginning to believe that maybe we shouldn't be so hard on the guy, as destructive as he is and has been----he is truly mentally ill. Jim Jones, Charles Manson and many other warped individuals---many religious hucksters--have had their enthralled followers throughout history, much to their detriment. This is quite the phenomenon happening right before our eyes.

The mistake was quickly corrected to show Trump carried the county with 61 percent of the vote. However, Trump and his supporters seized on the error. Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, a Michigan resident, held a news conference days after the election in which she decried a “major software issue in Antrim County” that she said could hold implications for the election in other areas. False theories about what happened in Antrim proliferated and a local resident filed a suit challenging the results in the county last fall. Trump hailed it in a statement this year as “the major Michigan Election Fraud case,” adding that “the number of votes is MASSIVE and determinative.” Last month, a Michigan judge dismissed the suit, citing an audit conducted by Michigan’s secretary of state that found the election had been conducted fairly and accurately."
I just wanna know what Donnie had on Rudy to compel him to throw away his legacy and ruin his career and law office.
Trump calls Michigan GOP-backed 2020 election investigation that confirmed Biden’s win a ‘cover up’ Mike Brest Thu, June 24, 2021, 2:15 PM Trump calls Michigan GOP-backed 2020 election investigation that confirmed Biden’s win a ‘cover up’ excerpt: "Former President Donald Trump labeled the Michigan state Senate’s election investigation that confirmed President Joe Biden’s victory a “cover up" Thursday. Trump, who acknowledged Monday that he hasn’t conceded the November race, ridiculed the state Senate Oversight Committee's investigation, the results of which were announced a day before. He called out Mike Shirkey, the majority leader of the state Senate, and Ed McBroom, the head of the committee, claiming they are “doing everything possible to stop Voter Audits in order to hide the truth about” the election. Trump also urged supporters in Michigan to "vote them the hell out of office" if they don't "do the right thing." "The Senate 'investigation' of the election is a cover up, and a method of getting out of a Forensic Audit for the examination of the Presidential contest," he said. “Corrupt (?) politicians falsely claim there was no Voter Fraud in Michigan (has anyone looked at what is considered the most corrupt election city in the U.S., DETROIT?).""
PA poised to conduct 2020 election audit like AZ. Pennsylvania poised to begin Arizona-style election audit with subpoena power by Daniel Chaitin, Deputy News Editor June 18, 2021 09:07 PM Updated Jun 20, 2021, 12:44 PM Pennsylvania poised to begin Arizona-style election audit with subpoena power excerpt: "Pennsylvania appears to be on the precipice of initiating an Arizona-style audit of the 2020 election. State Sen. David Argall, who heads a committee that oversees elections, told local news outlets he favors a forensic audit of the contest that state and federal officials insist was secure. The Republican, under pressure by former President Donald Trump to take action, told the Capital-Star the audit is now a “very real possibility." The report said he is considering subpoenas for ballot information and has yet to decide which jurisdictions to send them. “There are a lot of things under consideration right now, and I told them to check back in a week or two, and we hope to have some more detail,” he told the outlet after meeting with audit-supporting activists on Thursday."
Shirkey and Chatfield of MI flew to DC at Trump's command and met with him at the White House. The two later wined and dined in the evening at Trump's hotel near the White House. The meeting was stated as being about relief for the coronavirus, but Trump wanted to stop MI from certifying Biden's win. Trump was hoping that the MI state legislature could replace the slate of electors based on the populat vote with one that would give all the electoral votes to him.
Nearly eight months after the election, Trump is still upset with Shirkey for not overturning the election for him.
One can see that it's quite the pleasurable experience to bump dick heads with Herr trump for many of the enthralled supplicants on the right.
The way the laws are set up in MI, the state legislature can't simply assign its own slate of electors and override the one based on the popular vote of the election. Part of the rationale is to prevent shenanigans to overturn an election like Trump has been trying.
Trump was the same way with Pence in thinking that he could single-handedly overturn the 2020 election. A formal process is in place via a Constitutional amendment whereby states via Congress can object to the slate of electoral votes in each state. On January 6, 2021 the members of the House and Senate were engaged in that process on behalf of Trump when his followers started the riot at the Capitol. The riot damaged that process for Trump. In the end, the House and Senate on January 6 didn't have sufficient votes to dismiss enough electoral votes from the states that objected to the election result to reduce Biden's electoral votes to less than 270. Some GOP senators reverse objections to Electoral College certification after protesters storm Capitol excerpt: "Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., who promised Trump in person at a rally two days ago she would object to the certification, reversed course, saying she could not "in good conscience" follow through on objecting to Biden's presidency. "When I arrived in Washington this morning, I fully intended to object to the certification of the electoral votes. However, the events that have transpired today have forced me to reconsider and I cannot now, in good conscience, object," said Loeffler, in what could be her last speech in the chamber after losing reelection to Rev. Raphael Warnock in Georgia's Senate runoff one day earlier."
When Rudy was mayor of NYC he was not a fan of trump. Trump tried to buy him breakfast, one time, and Rudy said no thanks.

And how about the 75 million people that voted for him to be re-elected? Frankly, that scares me even more than one person's mental incapacity. Yes, he's a Republican and that's apparently enough for him to get their vote, but haven't they been listening to what's been spewing from this man's mouth? The folks that truly believe that Trump is "the greatest president of all time" might need some professional help, too.
