If you remember, O’reilly went to work for Fox News, and was the recipient of several sexual harassment lawsuits. Fox subsequently fired him.

Gaetz and Greene could always try Four Seasons Landscaping as their venue.

Gaetz and Greene Hold Bizarre Outdoors ‘Protest’ After Multiple Venues Bailed

    excerpt:

"Greene, a congresswoman from Georgia, was booted from her House Committees teams in February after videos surfaced of her harassing school shooting survivors and promoting conspiracy theories about QAnon, 9/11, and the death of John F. Kennedy Jr.

CNN found that she had liked a Facebook post calling for the execution of Nancy Pelosi back in 2019. She has also suggested that California wildfires are caused by Jewish space lasers, pushed conspiracy theories about school shootings, and compared the Senate mandates to the Holocaust, which she later apologized for."

Protesters rally at D.C. jail against Jan. 6 riot arrests
    By Karina Elwood
    July 17, 2021 | Updated at 6:53 p.m. EDT

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2021/07/17/look-ahead-america-dc-rally/

    excerpt:

"About 100 people from around the country gathered under the blazing sun outside the D.C. jail on Saturday to protest the arrest of those involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

“Let them go! Let them go! Let them go!” the crowd chanted.

While MAGA hats and Trump apparel were mostly missing outside D.C. Central Detention Facility by request of the event organizers, many sported bright-red hats and carried signs with slogans such as “protests are not insurrections” and “patriots are not terrorists.”

The rally was organized by Look Ahead America, a nonprofit organization that aims to give voice to “rural and blue-collar patriotic Americans who are disaffected and disenfranchised from the nation’s corridors of power.”

The group Saturday was protesting about 50 people who are being held in the D.C. jail, who they called “nonviolent American patriots.”

Matt Braynard, founder and executive director of Look Ahead America, invited people to read letters from inmates. In between songs and prayers, the crowd chanted and cheered, hoping those inside the jail could hear.

“We will never let this happen again,” Braynard said through a megaphone."

Trump supporter who stormed the Capitol told book author the rioters weren't there to 'steal things' or 'do damage': 'We were just there to overthrow the government'

A Trump supporter who stormed the Capitol told book author the rioters weren't there to 'steal things' or 'do damage': 'We were just there to overthrow the government'

    excerpt:

"We weren't there to steal things," Kiczenski, who entered the Capitol on January 6, said, according to the book excerpt. "We weren't there to do damage. We were just there to overthrow the government."

But when Trump took to Twitter to urge his supporters to go home, Kiczenski said she felt sad and confused, Bender wrote.

"We were supposed to be fighting until the end," she said

    excerpt:

"If someone put a gun to my head and said: 'Did Donald Trump win, yes or no? And if you're wrong, we're going to shoot your head off!' I would say 'yes,'" Kiczenski told Bender, according to an excerpt of the book that was published by The Washington Post. "I'm that confident that this stuff is not made up.""

Thank goodness Trump's people at the Capitol weren't the type who could be deemed terrorists, insurrectionists, and treasonists because they defaced a statue.

They were innocent patriots who were there to simply overthrow the government.

More than 535 arrested so far in Capitol riot case, while more than 300 suspects remain unidentified

    excerpt:

"At least 14 worked as law enforcement officers

At least 14 of those arrested were either former police officers or were employed as law enforcement officers at the time of the riot, according to court documents and employment records. Prosecutors also charged at least one current firefighter and one retired firefighter.

Of the seven police officers employed at the time of the riot, at least six have since lost their jobs. Kevin Tuck, a police officer with Windermere Police Department in Florida, resigned after the FBI arrested him at his police department. Karol J. Chwiesiuk, a Chicago police officer who was arrested June 11 and accused of entering the Capitol building on January 6, was not fired but has been "relieved of his police powers," a department spokesperson said. The Board of Supervisors in North Cornwall Township, Pennsylvania, voted June 1 to fire Joseph Fischer, a police officer who had been charged with, among other crimes, obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder. Houston police officer Tam Dinh Pham and Monmouth County correctional police officer Marissa Suarez both resigned after they were arrested, and two Virginia police officers were fired after prosecutors charged them for their alleged conduct at the Capitol.

Prosecutors have charged at least one former police chief. Alan Hostetter was chief of the La Habra Police Department in California for eight months in 2010, according to the department, and prosecutors have charged him with conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding. Prosecutors have also charged former officers with the New York Police Department: Thomas Webster, who is accused of lunging at a Capitol police officer with a flagpole, and Sara Carpenter, whose arrest, an NYPD spokesperson said, was the culmination of the NYPD's close work with the FBI Joint Terrorism Taskforce.

Nicholes Lentz — who the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said is a former officer in the North Miami Beach and Fort Pierce police departments — was charged after posting videos from inside the Capitol. In a video, he said, "We're not here to hurt any cops of course. I love my boys in blue, but this is overwhelming for them.""

Gaetz would be the first one to hide
There were only about 100 maga people who attended. There were protestors too, but I don’t know how many.

In Watergate Richard Nixon had a plan to bomb the Democrat Headquarters too. What we have is Republican morons who can not accept any other outcome than their own. They turn to violence in the event where they don't get their way. If one third of the Republicans wish to re-establish the Confederate States of America then we have a serious national emergency which we need to address immediately. Where I live, we have serious crime caused by Black Gangs. We have shootings every day and killing every week. We have robberies, rapes, and home invasions. The cops find dead people in the streets often. Our police services can deal with local crime. In the matter of the Republicans, what we have going on is a wartime revolt. That is much more serious than local crime or drug related matters. It is something which must be dealt with by the federal government. We need to use the insurrection laws right away. If they attack the Capitol again, The Capitol Police need to meet them with some serious firepower.

I always equate that type of person with ignorance.....which is not to say that all of them are stupid, but that they refuse to see more than one side of any issue. Imo, smarter people have the capability, and willingness, to look at all (or most) of the available factors before rendering a decision.

For example, the issue of whether or not to wear masks, a year ago. The open-minded person looks at as many sides of the question as they can:

-will wearing the mask make a real difference in my health?
-will wearing a mask significantly reduce the chance that I might infect others?
-what situations may it be more beneficial to wear the mask?
-is it worth it not wearing the mask at public places and increasing the chances I'll be prosecuted?
-are my civil liberties truly being violated by being compelled to wear it?

    etc.

Meanwhile, the willfully ignorant individual looks usually at only one factor:. For example: Trump says that masks are a waste of time.....

......and bang.....the issue is settled; they look at nothing else and refuse to consider alternatives.

If an individual doesn't possess the intelligence to look further, that's sad but unavoidable; you can't reach them and are wasting your time even trying. But the willfully ignorant person; the one with the mental tools to reach further but a refusal to even allow themselves to be exposed to differing facts & points of view.......is far worse. ("There is none so blind as he who WILL not see.")

Are there Democrats who fit that description, too? Of course there are, but thinking back over the past few years, the conservative mind seems to be pervading society with increasing frequency.

    It's scary. Damn frustrating, too.

I thought the stated goal was to bug the democratic headquarters. I wasn't aware their was a secondary plot to bomb it as well,

The question is why? No one was going to beat Richard Nixon in 72'

McGovern couldn't even carry his own state of South Dakota, although he did win Massachusetts - interesting.
