okay...so this song from The Lion King...i really like it alot...esp the broadway version. i guess He could be interpreted as God, but i feel like it's more like an aura that connects us all...nature i suppose. it's something we all feel that's not tied to an emotion, a thought, an image...it's just energy. random, i know.
I find God in many things, including Nature. I see Him in the mountains, forests, and hills of this nation. I see Him in you, my peers, my family, all people. God is everywhere if you keep your eyes open. As far as God being an idea, the closest I come to thinking that is the notion that words are simply signposts. We use the word God to communicate the idea to other people, but the word is not as important as the idea it points us towards. If someone came up to me and discussed God using the word Allah or Krishna or Yahweh or Christ or Ultimate Reality or Him or Her, all of these would be acceptable to me. It is not what you call God that is important, it is how you worship Him. Respect life. Respect creation. Be positive. And as far as energy goes, I definitely feel a connection flowing between us (humans). We're all part of the same thing so it makes sense. It emphasizes our oneness, something many humans unfortunately neglect. I think this was also a little random... just wanted to throw some ideas out there By the way, have you seen the Lion King musical?
I saw it in Chicago. The costumes are amazing. The director, Julie Taymor, went to Oberlin College. I might be heading there this fall if financial aid works out right. You probably don't read your gallery comments too often, but I noticed you had a "peace, love and bare feet" shirt in a couple of pictures. Is that by chance from Leland, MI? My little sister has a shirt like that from there.
