What I don’t understand is people who won’t maskup and their reasoning behind it. I can understand why people don’t want to get vaccinated, though.

 

I understand we are on uncharted territory , but I took my gamble and got both shots. It is my choice, I am the one who is going to pay if it was a bad idea, my choice my risk my responsibility. If someone thinks it was a crappy idea, still i didn't hurt no one but myself. This said, I respect the choice of those who decided they prefer to do without vaccine and support their freedom to prove they were right all along, or to face consequences if they get seriously sick. They may infect other people ? probably other unvaxxed fellows. What I absolutely don't condone is the attitude of those who want to push their own personal choices onto others and openly despise , call names and treat those who decided to get the vaccine as pathetic misguided fools. I have (had?) friends that regularly attacked me when in fact I never tried to make them or other people change their mind. They now have gone silent and don't even answer my calls. There is a sound reason to avoid making disciples, both if you are pro- or anti-vax: when you talk someone into one of these choices, you assume responsibility over the consequences that may arise from your advice. I don't want the responsibility about other people's choices. Make your choice, face the consequences and keep it personal. But please don't start a religion war or you might one day bear the guilt and maybe in the end discover that you were the actual idiot who acted as an intolerant crazed zealot , and this applies to both factions.

 

And now Florida reports the highest number of new covid cases in one day, over 21,000, 95% of which are people not vaccinated. Ridiculous! The vaccine is available and this happens!

Attention people of Florida, you already have a reputation for lacking common sense, you should be trying to disprove it, not confirm it!

 

I don’t understand why anti-Covid vaxxers are also against wearing masks? Do they think Covid is imagined? Lol I don’t get it.

 

If one doesn’t believe in the vaccine why would that same person believe the mask is anything more than a symbol of compliance .

 

Not all people who refuse the covid19 vaccine, are anti-vax in general. So, if they “believe” that Covid is a real public threat, why not at least wear a mask? Some may be refusing out of sheer defiance, but many are concerned but don’t want the vaccine, from what I’ve heard through news snippets, and social media comments.

I guess time will tell but I just wish more people would get vaccinated and we could start to move forward.

 

Wonder why this same horseshit was not heard when polio vaccine was discovered / invented?

Some good news, we finally hit the 70% vaccination rate. Pity it was a month after Biden wanted to hit it, and the past month only saw a 4% increase.

 

It's 70% that has had at least one shot... That's not necessarily "fully vaccinated". Better than none, but not fully vaccinated.

 

Of course those who get their first shot almost always get their second one. Almost, but there are those slackers who say, "Meh, good enough. I'm 80% immune, WTF." And the pandemic continues.

 

I'd eagerly take a third shot if credible doctors, scientists, etc. said it would help even more.

 

I had a discussion with 2 under 30 somethings who would not get the vaccine one of which would not wear a mask and was/is pretty reckless it came down to they just dont care enough to get the vaccine now they BOTH have it and are pretty sick HOWEVER I doubt it will change there minds to get the vaccine they have literally been poisoned by social media against the vax
