....about the brain-damaged woman who florida? apparently the judge extended the emergency stay to keep her feeding tube in until friday at 5 p.m. .....it's a really odd case...and i'm just wondering if anyone else has been following it and wonder what you think about it.......
I can't say I've been following it, but I've heard about it a couple times. I think that they should pull the plug. The woman cannot function. She cannot properly lead her life. Why keep her alive and make her suffer? Thats cruel.
something really odd about this whole case.....the woman who is in the coma, struggled with an eating disorder her whole life is now in the middle of a court battle over whether her feeding tube should be removed so that she can starve to death
If they are going to allow her to die, I would rather them give her a lethal injection than letting her starve...thats terrible!
i think the whole thing is pretty damn horrible......it's a huge ugly fight between her family and her husband.....
I think it should be her husband's decision. You have no say in who your family is, but that woman chose her husband. For all we know, she thought her family was a bunch of wackos. I also think that a lot of it has to do with the Bush (let's not forget Jeb's the governor of Florida) right wing antics. That's my 2 cents.
yeah.....i suspect the right wing antics of Bush has something to do with it as well..... .....i can't rightfully say what i would do in this situation because i've never been in a situation like this one.....but i can say, i would not want to be kept alive artificially..... and the problem in this case is that the woman left no written instructions......
That's why it's important to make these kinds of decisions BEFORE you need them, and get them in writing. My parents have power of attorney for eachother (and my brother and I have them incase something happens to them both) so that a big court battle like this won't happen. Hmmm you just inspired me to make a poll!
as i just said in the other thread on bein plugged in and shit ,,,,, it should never have been placed there to begin with to keep her alive,,,, n all this legal bullshit now with her husband whether he was at fault to begin with like the family believes or not is bullshit as well, the we think she will get better one day line is pure poppycock malarchy..... not only is noone getting any closure to any of it,,,, think bout all the money it is taking from the public at large,,,
you rock......not only did you use the word poppycock, you also used the word malarchy..... .....i agree with everything you said.....
If its the case I'm thinking of..... Its odd that you mentioned Bush as he was the one who interfered to begin with. I was living in Florida this summer and this case was on the news constantly. She and her husband always had an agreement that if anything had ever happened to one of them and they ended up in a vegetative state - that the plug would be pulled. They did not get it in writing, but it was I believe not anorexia, but a stroke of some sort that resulted in her being this way. She has been in a vegetative state for a number of years ever since. The were going to pull the plug this past summer, but Bush intervened, I forget exactly how. From everything I've seen, I think the husband is telling the truth that it was her wish to not live in such a vegetative state. If that is her wish, then she should be granted it and let go
This case is so sad. That poor woman has lived like that for way too long. I can see if there was hope of her coming out it and there were measures being take to make that happen but in this case it doesn't look that way. My heart goes out to her parents. I don't necessarily agree with them but I can't imagine having to see one of my children like that. I would not of wanted to of been kept alive this long. Again, if there was something trying to be done for me than go ahead and try it. If not let me go.
No, Terry Schiavo should not die. Why? Because she isn't dying, nor is she in a coma. Nor does she want to die. Terry Schiavo is paralyzed from the neck down, and she suffers from brain damage. She is NOT in a coma. Is this reason to kill her? No, it's not. She is still "with it" enough to know what is going on around her. Terry can communicate with her family through blinking (yes or no). She does not want to die, and removing her food tube and letting her die of starvation is nothing short of disgustingly inhumane. I really hope you people that are in support of her death simply don't follow the news. I also think you should look into the agenda of her so-called husband, who is the one that wants her dead -- not her family.
She isn't "being kept alive artificially." Shows how much you know. She is not on a heart or breathing machine, thus she is not being kept alive "artificially."
well leave it to you to stick it to us..... ......the mainstream media once again has a way of twisting things around..... i knew she was not on a breathing machine or a heart machine, but i also knew that she was brain-damaged and paralyzed from the waist down......i just wondered what everyone else thought about it.....that's all......
Normally if your gonna die from the end of some kind of medical treatment.. they give you some kind of drug to ease your pain
