Hmmm matey, you say that Glasgow is cold at + 14 o C. Try weather conditions in Siberia in the depths of winter at - 35 o C where it was necessary to cover your mouth, nose and even your eyes to stop your breath from freezing on your face, now that you can say was cold !!!
Very true, are winters are no where near as bad as some other places, i definitely wouldn't want to be in siberia
I got sent there for the month of January in 1983 by my bosses at work as I was admin support for a team of Consulting engineers assisting with the Gas pipeline. Daytime temperatures were around -35 o C, but when the sun went down around 15.00 so too did the temperatures plummet and one night on the thermometer on the outside of the hotel we were staying in, it recorded a temperature of -47 o C. To travel around, we had our own bus, which was parked up inside a garage at night (with all the other buses) and a bonfire was lit underneath the engine and underneath the fuel tank to stop the engine from seizing and the petrol from freezing in the tank !!!
Thats making me turn up my heating just reading it lol Fair play though, i think the coldest i can remember here is something like -10
