    Who's done it?

We've had some snow in the UK over the past couple of night, so every night, once everyone is asleep, i've gone out into the garden, barefoot, and walked around in the snow..

It's a really interesting feeling, I quite enjoy it, tho I did feel a bit silly...

    what about you?

Well yes this is what my thread yesterday was all about. Because we don't get snow that often here I don't get a lot of practice, so I find it difficult to last in the snow for more than about 15 minutes. It's good fun though.

It's snowing here and I'll go out for a bit later on... I don't really like it though. It's fun to leave foot prints but I don't like the cold, and I hate the slippery roads.

Snowfooting can be lots of fun if you keep safety in mind. Make sure your toes stay pinkish...if they turn white your circulation has stopped. The more snowfooting you do the more fun you'll have, stay active and keep moving. I've been out for walks almost everyday this winter but am really looking forward to warm weather when I can barefoot as long as I want without fear of frostbite.

I love walking through the snow, and as often as my area gets snow, by February, I'm usually able to last up to 40 minutes or an hour outside. I just know that once I move to an area that doesn't get snow quite so often, I won't be able to last as long. :(

I've tried it when I lived up north, felt nice at first, but after a few minutes, it became uncomfotable yet painful. I'm not a winter person, I guess that's one of the reasons why I moved to the southwestern U.S. We only get snow in the mountains, where it belongs!

Snow's already stopped and it almost entirely gone so I guess I won't be snowfooting today! Oh well, next time...

Once I did it across campus, and my feet went numb really quick, and then since the snow was melting there was ice all over the place and when I walked on it I couldn't tell if it was shredding my feet to ribbons or not. It was definitely weird.

I tried it today. Was quite cool, I must say. The feet felt very refreshed after.

This reminds me of the traditional Russian health system. One of the common techniques explained to me by my martial arts teacher is pouring ice cold water over the body while standing in the snow. Haven't tried it yet; I am starting from the simpler exercises (contrast showers, etc.)

We've had snow on the ground since October and I've made it a point to take my daily walk in it, be it to take a leak or actually stroll about a bit. These "walks" tend to not really be true walks when it's 40 below.
