Trump to attend World Series game 4 in Atlanta

    excerpt:

"The visit to Atlanta comes after the city was passed over by Major League Baseball to host the All Star Game over the summer after the state government enacted tight voting restrictions, which drew a wave of backlash from Democrats and businesses.

After the decision to move the summer game to Colorado, the former president called for a boycott of Major League Baseball.

“Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections,” Trump said in April. “Boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections.”"

Trump to attend World Series game 4 in Atlanta

    excerpt:

"The former president was loudly booed when he attended Game 5 of last year's World Series in Washington.

Trump, who was sitting in the stands with members of the House and Senate, drew boos and chants of "lock him up" when he was shown on the scoreboard at Nationals Park, a chant that echoed the "lock her up" chant directed at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that was often heard at Trump's rallies in 2016.

While the president may be hoping for a more receptive crowd in Georgia, a state that is overall more conservative than Washington, D.C., he lost Fulton County, which is home to most of Atlanta, by about 47 points in 2020."

Trump urges judge to block IRS from giving his tax returns to Congress

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — Lawyers for former President Donald Trump urged a federal judge late Tuesday to block the Treasury Department and the IRS from giving his tax returns to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Trump's taxes have long been the Democrats' "white whale," the lawyers said.

The reason given by the committee chairman, Rep. Richard Neal, for seeking the returns, to examine how the IRS audits presidents, is simply a pretext for wanting to search for something embarrassing, they told the federal judge.

The committee sued the Treasury Department when it refused to hand over the returns during the Trump administration. But the Biden administration changed positions and agreed to provide the returns, so the committee sought to dismiss the lawsuit. Trump and his companies then intervened, seeking to block the release.

"No one believes that Chairman Neal requested President Trump's tax returns so he can study legislation about IRS audits. No one. Chairman Neal admits that this justification was a mere litigation strategy. His fellow Committee-Members don't buy it either," the former president's lawyers said.""

Trump urges judge to block IRS from giving his tax returns to Congress

    excerpt:

"As for Trump's claims of privilege, the committee said those apply only to a sitting president's records in response to a subpoena. This request, by contrast, is authorized by a specific federal law, and the standards adopted by that ruling do not apply to a former president's records.

The Ways and Means Committee first asked for the returns in 2019. The Trump administration Treasury Department refused, and the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel backed up the decision, concluding that the request was invalid.

But under the Biden administration, the Treasury Department and the IRS said the returns should be turned over, and a new Justice Department legal analysis said the earlier conclusion failed to give a coordinate branch of government the "respect and deference" it was due.

U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden for the District of Columbia has scheduled a hearing on the dispute Nov. 16."

Boycott Trump who has been interfering with free and fair elections.

Trump shouldn't expect a warm welcome in Fulton County which is the target of the disenfranchising effects of the new voting restriction legislation in GA that he promoted based on his lies about the 2020 election.

Trump-clone DeSantis strips schools of federal aid meant to compensate schools for state money DeSantis had earlier stripped from the schools to punish those with mask mandates.

Florida bucks Biden, strips federal aid from mask mandate schools

    excerpt:

"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Education this week stripped local school boards of federal aid money over their masking policy, directly defying the Biden administration, which cautioned the state against the sanctions.

Florida officials yanked the federal grant money for Alachua and Broward counties that was meant to offset penalties for enacting a local mask mandate just one day after the U.S. Department of Education warned that the move would violate requirements in federal law, a clear sign that the state and feds are still at odds over Covid-19 policies.

School leaders in Alachua claim the state made the cuts to their October budget before the federal money even arrived, taking funding away from supporting students.

“I am appalled that the state would penalize the district by pulling funding we have not even received,” said Carlee Simon, Alachua County Public Schools superintendent, in a statement Wednesday.

The move by the state signals that there’s no conclusion in the fight between Gov. Ron DeSantis and local school districts that have attempted to implement mask requirements. At one point during the summer, the conflict has pitted the governor against 13 school districts — including five that were in GOP-leaning counties — as well as the Biden administration, which had promised to financially support school districts that faced financial penalties for enacting mask mandates."

Most people who are appalled by Florida's insane politics, move to another state. Teachers should set an example, and move to another state where they actually practice something resembling sanity.

Oregon Lawmaker Who Opened State Capitol To Far-Right Protesters Faces Charges

    excerpt:

"Croy said he followed the crowd throughout the day, eventually ending up inside the Capitol building as police faced off with a mob of rioters.

"I regretfully once again followed the crowd like a lemming," he wrote. "My adrenaline was up and I knew I wasn't supposed to be there but I was in the thick of it by this point."

In his letter, Croy said he was surprised to learn that a woman - Ashli Babbitt - had been shot during the insurrection, and claimed he had no idea how violent the attack was until he later watched an HBO documentary about the riot.

In August, Croy pleaded guilty to one charge of parading inside the Capitol."

Oregon Lawmaker Who Opened State Capitol To Far-Right Protesters Faces Charges

    excerpt:

"Federal investigators say Croy was captured on video and in photos throughout the Capitol, posing for pictures inside the rotunda at the same time Capitol police were trying to usher people back outside.

In a separate sentencing memo, prosecutors requested two months of jail time for Croy.

"He showed no concern for the severity of his actions as he engaged in criminal conduct as if he was on a vacation," prosecutors wrote in legal documents. "Finally, he bragged about and defended his actions to several friends, failing to see the seriousness of his actions."

Croy and his lawyers are requesting he receives probation at his sentencing hearing on November 5, citing his role as the sole caretaker for his two sons, one of whom has diabetes."

Mitch McConnell should be complaining about people like rioter Croy instead of being upset about taxes on billionaires.

Croy could have invested the money instead of squandering it participating in a riot for Trump's lies and giving himself a criminal record which will cripple his employment abilities.

    Trump rioter busted.

Orange County man seen fighting with police at U.S. Capitol attack is arrested and charged – Orange County Register

    excerpt:

"Federal agents arrested an Orange County man Monday who they said was seen fighting with police officers on the steps and in a tunnel behind the inaugural platform of the U.S. Capitol Building during the Jan. 6 attack by thousands of supporters of then-President Donald Trump.

Federal documents show Kim Michael Sorgente was taken into custody when U.S. Marshals served a search warrant for him in Santa Ana. He was later released and ordered to appear in the courtroom of Judge Robin Meriweather, a magistrate judge in Washington, D.C., via video conference on Nov. 4.

In a complaint unsealed Tuesday, an FBI agent who tracked down Sorgente said he was seen on security camera footage and on the body-worn cameras of Capitol police attempting with other rioters to get inside the building as Congress and then-Vice President Mike Pence certified the election as president of Joe Biden.

“How dare you? How dare you, traitors?” a man identified as Sorgente screamed through a megaphone after he stumbled to the ground amid a mob of rioters scuffling with Capitol police over a metal barricade. “How dare you traitors?”"

Huntington Beach resident arrested in connection to Capitol riot.

Huntington Beach resident Kim Sorgente arrested by FBI on suspicion of Jan. 6 involvement

    excerpt:

"Huntington Beach resident Kim Michael Sorgente — awaiting trial in Orange County on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following a December Trump rally — was arrested by FBI agents Monday in connection with the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots.

Rukelt Dalberis with the FBI’s Los Angeles field office said Tuesday the arrest took place late Monday afternoon in the city of Santa Ana but could not provide further details.

However, an Oct. 21 FBI affidavit filed in a criminal complaint with the U.S. District Court describes Sorgente’s actions during a three-hour period as captured by video surveillance footage and body cameras worn by U.S. Capitol Police officers during the insurrection.

He is charged with obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly and disruptive conduct."

Navy veteran who rioted for Trump tried to identify himself as part of the press. Later in the riot, he led people to the press pool on the Capitol lawn and started harrassing them.

He Dressed As Press To Storm The Capitol. Now We Know He Runs A White Nationalist Website. - News Concerns

    excerpt:

"“First of all, mission accomplished, Patriots,” Purse said to scattered cheers from the right-wing mob that had just stormed, vandalized and looted the building, disrupting a joint session of Congress, according to a video reviewed by HuffPost. “History has been made here today. Simultaneously you broke in through the front and through the rear! They could not stop you! You occupied the building! You caused them to stop what they were doing! They had to evacuate! They couldn’t complete their session! Mission accomplished! Excellent!”

Before handing off the microphone to a fellow Make America Great Again enthusiast, Purse gestured over to a patch of grass near the Capitol building. “The lying press is hidden over there … ” he said.

Later, Purse led a group of about 20 supporters of former President Donald Trump to a staging area for media outlets, where he immediately started accosting reporters, at one point targeting an Israeli correspondent with anti-Semitic slurs. Footage from the onslaught went viral and quickly became emblematic of the violent vitriol directed at the “fake news media” on Jan. 6."
