I just finished reading the “why are you beautiful” thread and it really made me smile.



I was thinking about how we as women sometimes feel pressured to look a certain way or to live up to standards society sets. It breaks my heart to hear about someone who feels like they are not good enough so on that note:



*This is a place for all of the beautiful strong women out there to talk about how great it is to not be like everyone else. Talk about what makes you you. What makes you unique? *



I want to have a thread celebrating free spirited women. And to any of you guys who feel like they need to fit in and are having trouble dealing with it, you can come here to talk about it and get a little confidence boost.

I am me because I didn't really want the baby but can't imagine my life without him now
I am me because I'm straight and still want gay people to be able to get married
I am me because I was raised in a conservative republican southern baptist house and am considered a liberal these days

I am me because I have a obsessive love of trees

I am me because I don't always say things right when I'm really mad, my words get all jumbled lol
I am me because I'm very patient when it comes to my son, unless he wakes me up in the middle of the night (not impatient WITH him, just at the situation)

I am me because I don't care how big my hips and thighs get, as long as my waist is fit enough
I am me because I like to dye my hair dark with pale skin
I am me because I hate to wear shorts and hate skirts even more
I am me because I believe everything has a spirit and a life
I am me because I think gun control would do more harm than good
i am me because I eat meat and still go out with my sister when she passes out her phamplets on the horrible treatment of animals (usually specific companies each time) and then I won't eat those companies' meats (like KFC for one)
I am me because I don't understand why someone can think plants are less alive than animals, just cause they can't move, those trees 'they' cut down have lived so long they could probably tell us the secret of life if we would just listen, and that's not even the just very ancient trees
I am me because I never use a pacifier to calm my son down, even though everybody else that takes care of him does
I am me because I love and trust too much

I am me because when I get in the mood, I can draw a real good picture
I am me because I make collages out of all my photos to hang on the wall, instead of putting them in an album
I am me because I have had to start an album after all lol I take too many pictures!
I am me because I've put a copy of every photo taken since Jeremy's birth in a little box for when he's older and might want them
I am me because I wear flip flops all year round (of course it is florida so no snow)
