Snow ??? - you keep that 'orrible white stuff your side of the 'pond' matey, we don't want any of that cold wet, slippery stuff here thank you very much !!!
We went from brown to 1 foot of the white stuff. Today 52° with rain and thunderstorms, then down to a low of 15 tomorrow morning! Finished my CA-7 workers comp forms today. Took my pain meds, working on my 3rd mug of coffee.
Submitted a manuscript to a publisher. Trying not to get my hopes up too much. I'm proud of myself regardless, though. I finished writing a full length novel, and I'm now working on the next one.
slept while it was as warm as it is going to get, to avoid the cramps i'm starting to get in my legs, lying down at the coldest time of early morning. (the hvac does produce heat, it just doesn't throw it very fare into the rest of the room when the air outside is below freezing)
today was groceries. hope i got enough to last next week. its goina be freezing all week. road over the hill (donner summit/i-80) closed for snow ice cars and trucks loosing it on the ice which had to be untangled for plows to get through, but was only closed for an hour. wasn't there, just saw it on the news but i used to live up there where it happened. had a little on the ground here a couple days age. didn't last. may get some tonight and tomorrow morning.
Snow I can deal with but ice is a bitch which of course is exactly what we're expecting overnight in the form of freezing rain. You might want to consider buying a pair of those Boot traction anti slip crampons which stretch over your Footwear,
I have no reason to, as I intend not to venture out at all, besides which we have no snow or freezing rain here, what we do have is fog and an outside temperature of + 7 o C.
Sounds like themnax could use a pair, but yeah, at 44 F in dense fog a a nice wool sweater and a mac (a la Penny lane) should do the trick
i remember freezing rain when i lived up in portland. down here, where i live is mostly level, we do get invisible ice from refreezing. the am i was hoping to see live coverage of the arian launch of the web telescope on its way to L2. no such. next stop nasa website.
Walked to the beach and got overpriced breakfast at the snack bar talked to neighbors merry chrismas on the way and back.
pumpkin pie for breakfast. bought one at the store yesterday. they didn't have any cool whip though. no snow this morning. the web is on its way, all nearly 400 failure modes of it. my dad thought power windows on a car were a needless failure mode. sure would have liked to have seen launch live for french guiana.
