The temperatures are now above freezing so everything is back to normal but earlier today the roads across Massachusetts were a nightmare as tweeted out by the Mass State police.

.LIGHT WINTRY MIX COULD RESULT IN SOME SLIPPERY TRAVEL OVERNIGHT INTO THE PRE-DAWN HOURS...

A period of mainly light snow will overspread Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island late overnight tonight through the pre-dawn hours. Areas along the immediate south coast could see a rain and snow mix. Most of the snow will be light with accumulations on the order of a coating to an inch, mostly on grassy surfaces. However, untreated secondary roads could briefly become snow covered and slippery. Motorists traveling overnight should be prepared for some slippery travel. The bulk of the light snow will come to an end by the pre-dawn hours, possibly switching over to patchy light freezing drizzle for areas north of the Massachusetts Turnpike before ending. This could coincide with portion of the early morning commute so be sure to use caution on the roads.
