Do you have to wear designer names? Do you care about what you wear? Does it seem to influence, how other women view you???

No, no and no. :D I really couldn't care any less about designer labels.. clothes are just clothes, I'd rather spend my money on something more worthwhile. :D

Yeah, I've never understood why people would care about wearing a designer label, much less spending all that money just to have "the name". Actually I prefer to buy my clothes from independent mamas. Clothes that do have designer names have never been my style anyway.

I used to be all into the designer lable thing in highschool, but I'm not anymore. I dont care what the label is or where my clothes come from as long as I like them and they're comfortable.

My hubby introduced me to a couple of other af wives before he left for deployment, and I found out one of them is a HUGE fan of that Louis Vuitton (I THINK I got that right lol) stuff. Ugh...I especially can't stand that. I'm mean, hey, if you can afford it, and you actually like how it looks, good for you. But I'll take my cute, so me, teeny-tiny-clearanced-to-7-bucks bag over something puke-brown-covered-in-dookie-brown-initials-that-aren't-even-mine, that costs 500$ or more...ANYDAY!

Yes, I care about what I wear.

One time, a friend scored a couple of big trashbags full of clothes left behind in the dorms, & I found a really cute shirt that happened to have like a Hilfiger label, or some brand along those lines...

I got out my handy little seam-ripper & took the label off!

Nope, don't give a shit. I'll often shop at the same stores - because I like their styles and I know that their prices are good. The only thing I'll buy more expensive than the bare minimum is jeans if I can... I really like bluenotes' jeans, but I can certainly live without. It's just, if I have the money and they have my size, I'll probably buy them.

I do buy lables every now and then, I have some Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren clothes. Still I spend less on clothes than my friends because I make alot myself which gets me really cool clothes very cheap. But I like having lables every now and then because I like having original clothes, so I'm sure I'm the only one who has it! I just hate it to see someone wearing my shirt ;)

I do care about what I wear, and I will only purchase clothing from certain places, but ONLY because they are the ones that wear the longest so I get my money's worth (and believe me, I'm a clearance rack queen!) that fit the best, and are the most comfy. Basically, if it can survive a lot of washings (I can never wear anything without the kids decorating me with something), hold it's shape and still look great, it's a hit.

So, I suppose I have a preference for certain clothing, but I feel that my reasons are valid, and I refuse to pay full-price anyhow. But, I would much rather pay a little more for something and have it last than to buy something for less money that was cheaply made and have to toss it in a short amount of time and need to buy more because it falls apart. You get what you pay for a majority of the time unfortunately.

    Peace.

I tend not to buy designer labels. They cost too much money, they're really not all that much better made than any other kind of clothing you can get, and I don't tend to like the style they sell.

Do I care what I wear? Well, yeah. I didn't used to, but I'm starting to enjoy this kind of thing. I'm not fashion obsessed, but sometimes it's fun to put on different styles. Yes, that does include the hippie styles. I like wearing broomstick skirts and peasent tops and bell bottems. I'm not terribly big on tye-dye anymore, though. I also wear other kinds of clothes. I also like wearing all black sometimes, or wearing patched jeans and concert tee-shirts. I sometimes wear button down shirts and dress pants. I love sweaters. That's you'd usually find me in this time of year. Sometimes I don't particularly care, so I'll wear the first thing I can pull out of the drawers. It all depends on my mood. Clothing isn't everything, but it can be fun.

But do I care what other people think about the way I dress? Not most people. I used to care what everyone thought for awhile, but then I started to realize that no matter what I wear or say or do, someone is bound not to like it. So I might as well just be me and let people think what they want. Unless you're someone I know and whose opinion I respect, I don't really care anymore. Even if it is someone who fits that catagory, I don't care that much under most circumstances.

I don't think it effects the relationships I have with other people. It think if people like me, they like me. If they don't, they don't. I really don't think my clothing has that big of an influence on that.

I dont care for labels....I rather go to the charity shop and get nice cheap clothes that I know I like cos I chose them not cos they have some fancy logo on them. Besides, i'm poor, so i could never afford paying for labels even if i wanted to ( i know i'll never will)

Gap's jeans are the only jeans that fit me comfortably and go up as high as I like them (right to the belly button, not clinging on for dear life just to barely hit the hip bones), plus I get them on sale, but other than Gap jeans, I'll happily shop at Marshall's or Ross.

I just wear what looks and fits best and there are people who make clothes that fit my body better then other people it has nothing to do with the label or caring how other women see me. I can't stand label whores and women who wear visible logos on everything

The only times I care about a certain name brand is when it comes to foot wear and winter gear. I'm hard on shoes and I'm on my feet all day at work, so I'll invest in a good, comfy pair of shoes. I like Doc Martens for boots and dress shoes and Converse for runners and Birkenstock for sandles. Before I moved up to the ski hill, I didn't understand the whole name brand ski gear thing. Now I do. The difference between a cheap winter jacket and a Helly Hansen jacket is enormous! Dry and warm vs damp and cold. I always wait for the year end sales though. I can't afford to pay full price. I don't notice if anyone judges me on my lack of name brand clothing. But I'm blessed because I live in a very funky, open minded community. Not alot of judgement going on up here. :)

I love designer stuff most of the time, you can get some gorgeous stuff and be wearing the trends a good six months before they hit the chain stores. Having said that, I would never buy an article of clothing just because it was by a designer, buying what you like and what suits you is the most important thing. :)

exactly that's the only thing is by the time things come out in department stores they're kinda played out so if I really love something and want to wear it before everyone else does i end up paying an arm and a leg. bags are the only thing that I absolutley have to have when they first come out and i'm kinda bad I have too many that were more then i have in my bank account right now.

The only designer name I really go for is Old Navy, and even then it's only because the styles tend to be rather timeless (as in you can easily wear Old Navy stuff for years and no matter what the "trend" is, it still fits) and also because I get the best clearance deals ever from there. The true Jew in me comes out when I go shopping... I can find shirts for $3 or $4 and pants for $10. Same with at Kohl's.... I never ever ever pay full price. I can't remember the last time I payed full price on something.
