And in the '40s (so I'm told), when a girl wanted to flirt with a guy, she'd turn around and ask, "Are my seams straight?" and hike up her skirt, but just a little above the knees. They were very formal back then.
I am a bit of a Retro nut. Better than the modern times , So much more respect between the different genders and of course most women wore the full kit in those times
At the risk of using too much band-width on Hip, I've done a collection of several academic studies of the question "Why do men like womens' legs." It runs to 5 pages long, so I'll just excerpt one quotation for here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "There is another, often overlooked, aspect to all this. It’s fascinating how many discussants of this topic seem to regard a woman’s legs aesthetically, as in simply the sense of beauty of form and shape as much as they do sexually..... simply the female form in itself, without any sexual inference. .....To return to what I described earlier, gazing at, and having one’s eyes roam about a woman’s legs may easily have as much to do with an innate attraction to the visual aspects, rather than the more directly sexual. Yet, regardless of how this attraction is appreciated, what probably best characterizes such an allure seems to be "suggestive, possible, touch, smooth, more?". Note the words of this respondent: “With clothing, legs can be both revealed and concealed, which makes them almost uniquely empowered to allow women to tease and attract men and stir their imaginations, or to deny such entirely. With legs, a little can be revealed, then a little more, and so on, all the way up to “special” areas. It all depends on how much the woman wants to show her “target”. Sometimes less can be more, thus allowing a bit more will allow her to "amuse herself" at any reaction. In addition, the momentary flash of legs through or under a skirt while a woman is in stride or when crossing her legs can burn a potent image into a man’s inborn receptive mind because it suggests or hints at sexual availability” So in brief, a woman’s legs can, at once, both please visually or tease emotionally. And while the partial display of a woman’s breasts or buttocks functions more obviously in this seductive manner, it’s undeniable that for many, (if not most), men a pair of shapely legs alone will have the power to effect this enthralled, fascinated response."
This is the perfect example of why I'm such a fan of short skirts. Just a little twist of the body, swing of the skirt and you get a glimpse of what's waiting behind door #1.
