I had the bikes and figured why not lol. That's what they were made to do. Had full leathers/lid/etc. It was just a goal/limit I wanted to hit and I sold them shortly after. Its always fun to push the envelope IMO.
Ok,mortals-gaze upon my mighty machine and drool with envy. In this beast [her name's Doris] I,with a following wind and a downhill start, can EASILY accelerate up to 52mph! [eventually] I once even overtook an invalid cart AND two bicycles in less than a mile!
I was on the autobahn in Germany last year and did over 200 mph in a rental jaguar. It was fun, I almost lost control a couple of times
sup everyone! just poking in to say HI ! by the way, I have since inherited this car and got it running and plan on running it in the hot rod power tour this year.
!45 mph twice . Once in a stock 85 stock Pontiac Trans Am and once in an open wheel Indy style car at a Mario Andretti driving school . I was governed to that top speed .
130mph when I was younger. Only once and never again. Lots of bad things will happen in the event of a crash. I've seen it all 1st hand.
170mph range when I was young and dumb, albeit on good roads. Next to an 80’ cliff in California with no guardrail, 35 max.
I had a couple of muscle cars when I was younger. I used to race all the time. I had a 1972 Chevy Impala. It had a 350 motor in it. Speedometer went to 130. But I had it going faster than that based on the speed of the Cars of a couple of guys I beat. So somewhere between 135/140.
I had a 1967 Dodge Cornet 550 With a non-stock engine. It was our family car per- say I was on a flat interstate highway around 2 AM in the morning with no other traffic in sight. When another car ( won't mention the make ) pulled up along side of me and kept challenging . My wife was sitting next to me sleeping. I figured what the heck and matched his speed. He took off and I floored it. Ended up passing him within a 1/4 of a mile and kept pulling away.. I decided to exit the highway to get gas at a 24 hour gas station. This guy pulled up to me a few minutes later and said he was shocked by my car. I had no idea what my total speed was. He told me that he was up to 140 mph and I kept pulling away from him. He could not catch up . I remember him being all excited about my car. It just looked like a grandma's type car . nothing special. But it was a great sleeper with the engine that I had put in it. My wife did not wake up till I started to leave the gas station. And she wanted to know if we wanted to swap driving . I remember feeling very energized and told her that she could sleep some more before we changed seats. That was when I was young and stupid at times . Now I drive like a old man. According to my teenage grandson . Only if he knew.......
Love it !!! I had a 66 Pontiac GTO back in the day and remember driving home from Chicago one night .Some guy in an Olds 442 was doing the same to me so I took the bait . He never could pass me and I cut 45 minutes off the trip home ! Don't know how fast we were going due to a short in my dash lights !
