Presidential oath: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
I read an article that said authoritarian figures have three things in common. They are narcissists, psychopaths, and sociopaths.
The strange Republican world where the big lie lives on and Trump is fighting to save democracy excerpt: "Rewriting the history of the insurrection is the second component of this inverted universe. At a CPAC session on Friday entitled, “The Truth about January 6th”, Julie Kelly, author of a book on the subject, accused the government of persecuting innocent demonstrators and hiding 14,000 hours of surveillance video. “We deserve to know how many FBI undercover agents and informants were involved,” she said, airing another bogus conspiracy theory. Kelly added that if Republicans gain control of the House, they should “turn the January 6 committee 180 degrees” to investigate how Democrats and the justice department “have abused their power to punish Trump supporters to criminalise political dissent because that’s not what this country is about”. The comments earned enthusiastic applause at CPAC, where few attendees share the conventional view of January 6 as a seditious assault on democracy. They are more likely to say it was morally justified, or that a few protesters went too far, or that it was a false flag operation by the FBI intended to discredit Trump supporters."
After all these years, it isn't surprising that Trump comes out with lies & misinformation. That tens of millions of people fully believe what he says is what never ceases to amaze. All the folks that claim to "know" what's going to happen in '24 don't actually have a clue. With the make-up of our electorate, anything might happen.
Leaked document shows Russia is preparing for 'a massive medical emergency' of Ukraine war casualties excerpt: "Leaked documents show that Russia is preparing for many casualties caused by Putin's invasion of Ukraine and is preparing to draft civilian medics from across the country, said ITV News. The documents, sent exclusively to ITV news and signed by Deputy Health Minister Plutnitsky, ask medical teams "to be promptly involved in activities aimed at saving lives & preserving the health of people in Russia." Emma Burrows, ITV's news editor, wrote that it "indicates Russia is anticipating a massive medical emergency" and could be forced to deploy doctors and medics from health organizations across the country."
I live in the Midewest. People here don't know the difference between Iraq and Iran, don't know where New Jersey is located, don't know the capitol city of North Dakota, don't know their butt from a bump on the ground, and think Jesus is going to return soon.
I just read an article about all the people in America who believed that in 1844. They sold everything they owned, including their house and started waiting for Jesus, because some famous preacher said so. Here in North Dakota there are lots of end-times radio programs which tell Jesus will kill all people other than Christians and then set up The Kingdom of God on Earth. That means they will kill all people, like Hindus, Muslims, Taoists, Native Americans, and so forth? The common thread in all these radio evangelical programs is this: Donald Trump is doing the right thing according to Jesus. The Democrat Party has to respond to this dangerous cult which welcomes, accepts, and tolerates murder in the name of Jesus (and Trump).
Trump took documents to Mar-a-Lago that are so sensitive they may not be described in public, report says excerpt: "Former President Donald Trump took documents to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida that are "so sensitive" they might not be able to be described in public, The Washington Post reported Friday, citing two unnamed sources. After leaving office in January 2021, Trump took 15 boxes of documents to his Florida resort, which National Archives officials said contained some classified information. Some of the documents were of the "very highest levels of classification," two sources told The Post, and therefore might not be able to be described in upcoming inventory reports in an unclassified way."
